Synopsis: Grandpa Vanderhof and his wacky family, the Sycamores, have been happily living their zany lives in his house by Columbia University in New York for many years. This family (and their friends) are a madcap group of eccentrics, marching to the beat of their own drum, with pride and joy. Their hobbies include collecting snakes, building fireworks in the basement, playing darts, writing a myriad of plays that never get published with a typewriter that was delivered to the wrong address years ago, taking ballet lessons from a Russian dance teacher and much more. Things like stress, jobs and paying taxes to the government are for other people, not for them! You Can’t Take It With You is a madcap, idealistic comedy that reinforces the idea that you can only live life to the fullest by doing whatever makes you happy.

Opening July 31
Book by Dennis Kelly
Music and Lyrics by Tim Minchin
Directed by Alison Gilbreath
Musically Directed by David Williams

Rebellion is high in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the “revolting children” who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson.

Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence… and special powers! She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly lovable Miss Honey. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils’ saving grace!

Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, Matilda JR. is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

Performances are July 31 – August 22 on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00pm

Looking for three actors to play:

Margaret “Meg” Murry
Meg is an unusually intelligent thirteen-year-old girl who is a misfit at school. She is warmhearted but impulsive. The main source of her unhappiness, however, comes from the fact that her brilliant scientist father disappeared a number of years ago, and has made no contact with his loving, close-knit family since. Meg’s greatest faults are her anger, impatience, and lack of self-confidence, but she channels and overcomes them, ultimately emerging victorious.
Charles Wallace Murry

Meg’s gifted five-year-old brother, Charles Wallace is incredibly intelligent, sensitive, and telepathic. His talents extend from advanced factual and scientific knowledge to an unusual ability to penetrate and understand the minds of others. He is described as “something new”, an evolutionary “next step”.. His assurance of his abilities proves to be his vulnerability Charles is very close to his older sister

Calvin O’Keefe
Calvin is a fourteen-year-old boy who’s so smart he’s in eleventh grade He excels academically, socially, and in sports from an early age, but feels disconnected from his peers. Calvin comes from a large family that does not really care about him, but he nonetheless demonstrates a strong capacity for love and affection, and shows a burgeoning romantic interest in Meg. He finds a truer home with the Murrys.

The witches, the parents, and other various characters have been precast.

James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.
The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
An intellectual and pleasant storyteller who helps to orchestrate the show and illustrate lessons to the audience.
A young, earnest maiden who is constantly mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters.
The feckless Giant killer who is 'almost a man.' He is adventurous, naive, energetic, and bright-eyed.
Jack's Mother
Browbeating and weary, Jack's protective mother who is independent, bold, and strong-willed.

The Baker's Wife
Determined and bright woman who wishes to be a mother. She leads a simple yet satisfying life and is very low-maintenance yet proactive in her endeavors.
Cinderella's Stepmother
The mean-spirited, demanding stepmother of Cinderella.
Florinda And Lucinda
Cinderella's stepsisters who are black of heart. They follow in their mother's footsteps of abusing Cinderella.
Little Red Ridinghood
A spoiled young girl who is strong-willed, quick-witted, fearless, yet youthful and naive.
Gender: female
The Witch
Sarcastic, ugly-then-gorgeous, obsessive protector of Rapunzel who is straightforward and aggressive.
Cinderella's Mother
Deceased with her soul guarding and aiding her daughter from a tree.
Mysterious Man
A mischievous vagrant and nosy meddler. He is a good-natured protector and observer.
Hungry and insatiable hunter who takes advantage of the weak by misleading and captivating his prey.
A loopy-but-lovely maiden who is sheltered by the Witch and terribly lonely. She yearns to experience the world.
Cinderella's Prince
Vain and gorgeous, he is a disloyal lover who is currently searching for the next new, exciting thing.
Rapunzel's Prince
Just as vain and gorgeous as his Prince brother, he is always chasing the newest, most exiting endeavor.
