presented by Steve Rebholz
AIA Credits: 1.5 LU HSW Credits
Overview
Great projects don’t just happen. They are the result of the collaboration of a diverse group of teams and individuals. Owner, Contractor, A/E and Suppliers – all working together to achieve a common goal. The EMHCS Joseph Avenue Expansion Project is an example of how complex design and construction problems are better solved as a team.
This presentation will use a case study of the EMHCS Joseph Avenue to show:
- How the existing site, existing buildings, the Codes, and the Owner’s program informed the design solution
- How the Design-Build project delivery method amplified the ability of all teams to add value to the project
Learning Objectives
- Understand the key factors that informed the design solution of the Case Study project
- Understand how the NYSUFPBC was applied to this project
- Understand how the Owner, Contractor, A/E and Supplier teams each added value to this project
- Understand why the Design-Build project delivery method was determined to be the best way to get this project done
