Good Morning!
We are now just two weeks away from the Fennig Field Day! We have been interseeding cover crops this week into the corn we planted mid July for demonstrations. This week has been mostly dry and I am hearing from a lot of customers that they are in desperate need of a good rain shower, Next week Mitch and Adam will travel to Missouri and back home through Iowa so it will be interesting to see how crops look out here, Of course the Pro Farmer crop tours are starting as well so those results will be exciting to see. County fairs are mostly over which means cool nights and brown leaves are near, which is hard to believe given how green the crops still are! Have a great weekend!

Counting The Days, Tassel To Black Layer
The talk all season in the Midwest has been, "Man my corn looks great but too bad it is a month behind." Let's dig into how many days from tassel to black layer to see roughly when your corn will be mature. A lot of corn has tasseled in the last 7 days but there is more that will in the next 7 days. Average Frost dates in OH are any where from the 8th-18th of October which means we will be dancing with danger if we have an earlier than average frost.

Seasoned Potato Wedges Recipe

My family loves baked potato wedges, so they are often on our menu when we have sandwiches for supper. Feel free to add some crispy bacon bits and cheddar cheese at the end!

Seasoned Potato Wedges

Ingredients:
4 large potatoes, scrubbed clean
2 tsp. seasoned salt
1/4 - 1/2 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese (opt)
Cooking oil

Directions:
Preheat oven to 425F. Cut potatoes into 6-8 wedges per potato and place in large bowl. Spritz with your favorite cooking oil. Stir to coat. Sprinkle with seasoning and Parmesan and stir to coat. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork. Baking time will depend on size and type of potato.
