American Academy of Pediatrics updates to breast/chestfeeding recommendations:

2 years or beyond:

“The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends exclusive breastfeeding for approximately 6 months after birth. Furthermore, the AAP supports continued breastfeeding, along with appropriate complementary foods introduced at about 6 months, as long as mutually desired by mother and child for 2 years or beyond.”

“Mutually desired by mother and child” is key here. Not every family can or wants to feed human milk to their child, and those families deserve the same compassion and quality of care as chest/breastfeeding families. -California Breastfeeding Coalition

You can fly with breastmilk? -Yes! but it's best to know your rights before you fly...

It's summer travel time and many families are flying to vacation locations with their little ones.


Along with the delays, overbooked flights, and just the additional challenges of flying with your baby- carrying breastmilk shouldn't be a challenge too.


TSA agents aren't always well versed on the rules, so be prepared to advise them!
