We love sharing helpful tips with you through the growing season. Since it is still too cold for most to plant cannas outdoors, this is great if you are already yearning to play in the dirt. While you certainly do not have to start cannas early indoors, the perk of doing so is earlier season blooms since it takes about 90 days from planting for cannas to first bloom.

I walked outside this morning and was thrilled to see the first few sprouts of my spring flowers poking through the soil. It is a reminder that it is time to start clearing leaves out of the flower bed and doing the dreaded sprinkler head maintenance. I can't even complain because I'm so excited to be back outside with dirt under my fingernails, in my floppy sun hat, surrounded by my favorite plant companions.
