20 Volunteer Goals for 2020!
Learn a new area of the law
In their daily law practices, many of our attorney volunteers work in specialties
outside of domestic, landlord/tenant, probate, and other areas of the law where our clients need help. But our staff attorneys are always present at Help Desks to answer questions, provide forms, and make it as seamless as possible.

Tell your pro bono story!

Even small wins can have a big impact. If you helped a VLB client resolve a legal problem to make his or her life a little brighter, let us know! Your stories inspire others.

Spread the word
Tell the civic, nonprofit, or other organizations you're involved with about VLB's work to provide free legal aid. These groups often do work of their own for low-income communities but might not know how we can enhance their efforts.

Volunteer for Project Homeless Connect
On February 29, VLB will join with dozens of agencies at Boutwell Auditorium to help people experiencing homelessness get back on their feet. Attorney volunteers play a critical role by helping to resolve any legal barriers these citizens may face in obtaining a driver’s license, housing, employment and more.

Thank a veteran
For many of our attorney volunteers—including those who have served themselves—there's nothing more rewarding than helping a veteran overcome legal challenges. Volunteer for our Veterans Help Desk, held the second and fourth Wednesday of every month.

Give the gift of legal aid

The value of getting a Protection from
Abuse for a victim of domestic violence is
$500. Being able to provide that for free to
a client in crisis is just one example of how
our work—made possible by the generosity
of our donors—can have life-changing impact.

I want to donate.
Make somebody's day
