USA returned from the 2010 DMC World DJ Championships in London
earlier this week and WE ARE SO PROUD OF OUR US CHAMPIONS!!! Both
DJ ETRONIK and DJ SOLO placed in
the top 4 DJs in the World in their respective categories and our
3X DMC US DJ Team Champions: BATTLESTAR placed
top 5 of World teams!!
Finally!
DMC announced at the the World Finals that Rane &
Serato will be major sponsors for the DMC World DJ
Championships (as they have been with DMC USA since 2008) and...
Beginning in next year, BATTLE DJS CAN USE SERATO SCRATCH
LIVE IN THE CLASSIC 6 MINUTE SHOWCASE
BATTLE! DJs will also be permitted to use similar programs
or no programs at all. Vinyl is always welcome! The DMC Battle for
Supremacy, a traditional head to head, will remain strictly
vinyl with two turntables, a mixer, skills, flavor and
style. The DMC Team Battles have allowed Serato Scratch Live and
similar programs for several years.
Congratulations
to all of the 2010 DMC National and World Champions who battled

DMC,
the preeminent showcase for DJ talent around the world, is pleased
to announce that Serato and Rane
have come on board as major sponsors of the DMC World DJ
Championships. DMC believes this collaboration will take
DJ creativity to an entirely new level with the ability to use
Serato's Scratch Live.
In
order to balance traditional mixing and the popularity of digital
vinyl playback, DMC has confirmed that beginning in 2011,
DMC
World DJ Finals, the
classic showcase style DJ battle, now in it's 26th year, will
permit the use of the software based system Serato Scratch
Live in addition to traditional vinyl. The DMC DJ
Team Championships has permitted the use of Serato Scratch
Live for several years. Of the three DJ battle categories that DMC
presents, one will remain strictly vinyl, two turntables and a
mixer: The DMC Battle for World Supremacy: DMC's
classic head to head battle.
DMC
is also planning an On-Line World DJ Championship
which will embrace visual mixing, the potential for which was seen
at this year's DMC World DJ Championships with performances by DJ
Woody and DJ Shiftee.
DMCWorldTV has
established itself as the premier portal for DJ performances and
now DMC has plans to launch DMC RADIO, a
revolutionary channel featuring DJs covering every genre of dance
& Hip Hop music transmitting from a variety of servers
worldwide.
