It's one of my favorite phrases, and one that motivated me to form my own independent public relations firm--Creative Strategies Public Relations.  Now, I'm starting my fourth year in business and am still enjoying the challenges and rewards of helping clients find creative ways to tell their stories and achieve business results.

 

Since founding Creative Strategies, I have worked with a variety of companies and nonprofits, developing and implementing successful communications plans and strategies.  My firm's award-winning client work has touched national and local issues, including public policy, housing, financial services, environment, and child welfare issues. 

Recent successes include raising the profile of a national nonprofit and its leadership, promoting a smart phone app, and quadrupling the media exposure for a nonprofit's major event.  Of course, my success is a product of a great support system and the wonderful clients who have taken a chance on me.  I have also been fortunate to find the Independent Public Relations Alliance--a source of inspiration, knowledge, and networking--that I now chair.

Highlights

 

Engaging Audiences: Through a series of tailored and creative strategies, helped a foundation celebrate a major milestone and engage and inspire employees about its legacy.

Launching a New Product: Developed a multi-platform launch plan for Votesane.com--a nonpartisan, political portal, resulting in significant press coverage, a growing followership, and donations through site topping half a million.

Showcasing a Community Need: Devised media relations plan for FACETS-and its partners-to attract volunteers, drive coverage, and educate the public about the plight of the homeless in Fairfax County through the"Giving Back to Get People Home" event.

Creating Awareness: Promoted inaugural DryHome's Loudoun Lyme 5K and Fair. Event drew several hundred runners; attracted elected officials and Lyme's experts; and raised funds and awareness.
