Since the launch of the GCRI website, www.germaninnovation.org, in 2011, we have added new features to showcase Germany as a land of ideas and a destination for research, work, study, and business. Germany is one of the most popular destinations in the world for international students and researchers, and offers a wealth of funding for such pursuits. The GCRI website provides an in-depth overview of funding organizations, databases, and programs. Under Funding & Resources, we have organized funding programs into five different categories: Undergraduates, Graduates & Doctoral Students, Postdocs, Faculty & Researchers, and Business & Industry. Our Entrepreneurship Funding page outlines resources at the federal and state levels, representing Germany, a land of know-how and innovation, as a strong economic hub in the global market. Interested in pursuing a Doctorate in Germany? Visit Ph.D. in Germany for more information on individual vs. structured doctoral programs, requirements, and financing opportunities.

The topic of the 2014 German Science Year is Die Digitale Gesellschaft ("The Digital Society"). Based on this topic, future newsletter themes will include cyber security, wearable technology, 3-D/4-D printing, and smart cities. Stay tuned for exciting upcoming events, including a panel discussion later this year on Bridging the Innovation Gap between Academia and Industry. The March 18, 2014 event will feature speakers Dr. J�rn Erselius, Managing Director of Max Planck Innovation, Dr. Barbara Dalton, Director of the Pfizer Ventures Investment team, and Dr. Kathleen A. Denis, Associate Vice President of Technology Transfer at The Rockefeller University.
