2013 was a very busy year at the Center.  We received over 1,000 sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife and released 69% back to the wild.   Here's a breakdown of the "Top Ten" species for 2013:

Western Gray Squirrel109
Common Gray Fox52
American Crow39
Striped Skunk38
Barn Owl29
Red-tailed Hawk27

To care for these animals we rely on our dedicated volunteers. Throughout 2013, over one hundred volunteers gave their time, care and support at the Center.  Some help continuously, others are completing court ordered hours or community service projects.  All our wonderful volunteers help with tasks that are essential to keeping the Center running smoothly.

From cleaning kennels to chopping fire wood and preparing specialized diets, dedicated volunteers log an amazing number of hours every week!  Some helped with major projects like our new Raptor Recovery Center.  Others answered phones or fostered babies.  And many hours of important volunteer duties are logged off-site. In addition to our Foster Care team, our Hotline Team answers messages left by the public and our Rescue Team responds to rescue injured animals called in on the Hotline.

Last year alone, volunteers logged almost 12,000 hours! Every hour allows us to properly care for the animals we rehabilitate.

To say "thank you" to our volunteers, we're hosting our annual Volunteer Appreciation event on February 8th.  If you would like to help us show our thanks to the volunteer team, you can donate a gift certificate to your favorite restaurant or make a cash donation to help offset event expenses.   Please contact Danielle Mattos at (707) 992-0274.

We'd also like to send our heartfelt thanks to the supporters who answered our two fundraising appeals during 2013.  We received $31,740 in donations from our End of Year appeal which was mailed in November, and $17,854 from our Spring "Baby Season" fundraising letter.  If you've been meaning to send a donation, but just didn't get around to it over the holidays - we still need your support!   Just click the "Donate" button in the top left panel.

Gratefully Yours,
