The Institute for Public Service & Policy Development of Pepperdine University is pleased to present The 3rd Annual Mark O. Hatfield Lecture on Monday, October 6, 2014. The event, hosted by Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), begins at 6:30 PM with a reception, followed by the lecture at 7:00 PM.

Dr. Caldwell is Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Pepperdine University. He holds advanced degrees from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and Stanford University, and brings a distinguished background in the Middle East, international relations, arms control and Russian-American relations.

 

Dr. Caldwell has been a Pew Faculty Fellow in International Relations, a Malone Fellow at the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations, and a U.S. Institute of Peace Fellow.  He is the author and editor of numerous publications, including the book, Vortex of Conflict: U.S. Policy Toward Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq (Stanford University Press, 2011).
