Shift Network Presents ...

Earth Day Summit 2015

Awakening a Sacred Relationship

With the Earth

"Here's the real bottom line. If we lose the Earth, there goes the GDP."

-- Swami Beyondananda

Dear Friends:

My friend Caroline Casey thinks we'd make more progress if we lose the word "environmentalist" and replace it with the phrase "sane and reverent folks".

I agree.

That's why I am happy to be a co-sponsor of this celebration of sanity and reverence on Wednesday, April 22nd, "Awakening A Sacred Relationship With the Earth".

Sacred ... sane ... reverent, are all words that suggest enduring value. And in a world where the rule of gold seems to have at least for the time being trumped the Golden Rule, sanity is a rare and valuable treasure. So I invite you to join the Shift Network as they once again apply loverage to shift our consciousness about our planet's healthier future, and how we can get there now.

It's easy when looking at the worldwide environmental shituation to rail at those mother-frackers whose practices and policies seem to be compromising our wellbeing. And yes, doing tantrum yoga can be cathartic.

But as we know, fear and rage are short-term motivators. Long-term engagement requires having our heart in it, and having our heart nourished in the midst of whatever challenges emerge.

Our friends at Shift tell us there's great hope and amazing inspiration... IF you know where to look.

That's why we want to invite you to The Shift Network's free, online Earth Day Summit on April 22. Join 30+ of the planet's top experts, visionaries and wisdom-keepers - including people like Arkan Lushwala, Chief Phil Lane, Jr., Drew Dellinger, Andrew Harvey, Esperide Ananas and others - who are helping humanity awaken to a sacred relationship with this wondrous planet.

You can sign up for free here.

During this exciting event, you'll join together with sisters and brothers around the world and experience the beauty and interconnectedness of all life, and revel in all that is exciting, innovative and new in this new world of sustainability. PS - Here are just a few quotes from past participants in The Earth Day Summit & The Spring of Sustainability:

Thank you for the inspiration, new thoughts and tools for creating community and going forward. I bought the transcriptions and I can't wait to get them. I had already planned to start an engagement circle or Transition Town this year and this has provided me with even more resources for all through your speakers and partners, some of whom I have followed since the 70s!... I have hope, because this energy, which has been bursting out all over the planet sporadically for four decades, has gathered so much momentum in the last 15 years - and is now truly accelerating. We are linking hands to create the world we dream of, even as the odds seem to get worse.

- Joan

Spring of Sustainability 2014 was the most important webinar series I've ever attended because I've been frustrated with the use of the word "sustainability" and have focused attention on our global need for a Great Renewal before we can hope to be sustainable. For the first time, I heard these committed people begin to use great renewal words to describe what they are doing: regenerate, redesign, refocus, renew, regrow etc. It's exciting that the collective mind is coming to understand we need to stop using "sustainable" as a present tense word and put in place actions for a generation for a great renewal so eventually our children and children's children can live sustainably.

- Wintergreen

The Shift Network provides some of the most meaningful, thoughtful and enlightened forums for this current era. I have participated in several but Spring of Sustainability was one of the best. Climate Change and its effects are some of the most critical issues of our times. Their presenters just didn't talk about the issues, they also addressed solutions and what we, the general public, could do to help.

- Carolyn

Listening to The Spring of Sustainability gives me much needed hope when I learn how many people and organizations, worldwide, small and big, are working to transform planet Earth through so many diverse projects. It encourages me to keep working in my own little corner of our sacred world. You inspire and combat despair by building community, by letting us know we are not alone in our own small efforts to renew and sustain our Mother Earth. Thank you.
