2016 Downtown Projects

Spring/Fall Planting Project

This year, the Main Street Douglasville Program invested in 24 additional planters, adding to our existing 12 planters already in downtown Douglasville. Along with adding these new planters to the downtown, our Design committee planted bright and colorful flowers this spring in all the planters, in the alley behind City Hall, and hanging baskets on O'Neal Plaza! To celebrate the coming of the fall season, the Main Street Design Committee, along with Bio Life Plasma Services, lent a hand in the planting of over 40 mums in downtown Douglasville!

Thank you to our wonderful project sponsor, The Benton House and to Bio Life Plasma Services for lending a hand!

As an accredited Main Street Community, our applicants have access to this state funded loan program at a two percent interest rate, making it easy to finance projects in downtown Douglasville's service area!

The City of Douglasville and the Downtown Development Authority hosted a downtown Town Hall meeting on September 27th to discuss the master plan process and hear public opinion.

Recently, the Downtown Development Authority recommended 3 consulting firms to be voted on by the Douglasville City Council. These 3 nominated consulting firms will present to City Council on J anuary 12th at 4 PM in the Douglasville Conference Center. When the final selection is made from City Council, the selected firm will begin engaging the community through round table discussions, surveys, and open forums.
