You never know where or when you will run into DeSales alumni! On a cruise to Alaska,
along with 2,200 other people, class of 1967 alumni Barb (Froehlic) Varley, Sandy (Whaley) Bruns,
and Tony Condo had the pleasure of sitting with a young engaged couple, who not only were
from Columbus, but the bride-to-be, Stephani Streacker, is a member of the SFD class of 2006.
Sarah Richards '15 was named to the Dean's List at The Ohio State University for the fall and spring quarters. She also received the Thelma Goodman Scholarship in Social Work for the 2017/18 school year and was selected to participate in a Buck-I-Serv trip to Ghana, Africa with the
Akumanyi Foundation to
help build a school at an orphanage.
A Great SFD Alumni Weekend!

Pancakes, Games and More
100 people stopped by SFD last Sunday to enjoy a pancake breakfast and field day games at the Tony and Debbie Pizzurro Memorial event. With a Kona Ice truck, water balloon toss, a bounce house, dunk tank, and several other fun games, everyone in attendance had a great time for a great cause.
Christmas in July
Every December SFD's Student Council takes the lead on an Adopt-a-Family initiative, working with the MoMM Foundation's Holiday Blessings program to help make a family's Christmas a little brighter. The MoMM Foundation (Miracle of Mom's Memory) is a Westerville based non-profit foundation that serves others in the memory of a loved one who inspired kindness. This non-profit is run by SFD alumni: Phil Callaghan '80, Cindy Callaghan Hickey '82, John Callaghan '90, Megan Rossetti Polk '05, and Nicole Rossetti '09; and in
memory of Bryan Callaghan '03.
In 2016, Holiday Blessings provided a Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter to 115 families (over 500 children) in Central Ohio and surrounding areas. This year, they are looking to serve 150+ families and the support from their Alma mater (SFD!) would be fantastic!

The 1997 season provided great memories ending with an appearance in the school's third State Championship Game and achieving the school's second football State Championship with a dramatic 17-14 victory over Youngstown Chaney at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massilon, Ohio. We expect many players and coaches from the '97 team will be in attendance to reunite, reminisce, and celebrate!
