One2017 Executive Trustee election voting authority
IMRF employers will elect one Executive Trustee for a five-year term this fall. The five-year term of office will run from January 1, 2018, through December 31, 2022.

Authorized Agents may cast a ballot in an Executive Trustee election provided they have been given authority by their governing body. If an Authorized Agent does not have voting authority, as indicated on Form 2.20, "Notice of Appointment of Authorized Agent" on file, and the governing body would like to grant a person authority to participate in IMRF elections, IMRF needs to receive a new Form 2.20.

IMRF mailed election ballots and candidate biographies to Authorized Agents or governing bodies (as appropriate) on October 11, 2017. Completed ballots must be received by IMRF's Springfield or Oak Brook office by 4:30 PM (CST), December 12, 2017.

Refer to the 2017 Board Elections page of IMRF's website for additional election information.
TwoNational Retirement Security Week begins
Taking place October 15-21, National Retirement Security Week is a national effort to raise public awareness about the importance of saving for retirement. The week provides an opportunity for employees to reflect on their personal retirement goals and determine if they are on target to reach those goals.

IMRF encourages members and employers to take advantage of online resources to learn more about savings strategies during the week. Available resources include apps that assist in smart investing, publications, and online calculators to maximize retirement planning.

All IMRF members and employers are invited to fully participate in National Retirement Security Week. Visit the National Retirement Security Week website to learn more about the program.
