Competition Levels
Majors Division
The Majors Division is for experienced teams that have more depth and are ready to compete at the highest level of youth baseball.  At the 9U and 10U majors division there will be leading off, dropped third strikes, and stealing.

AAA Division:
The AAA Divisionis for entry level teams whose players need more experience before they compete against teams with more depth and experience.  At the 9U and 10U AAA Division there will be no leadoffs, no dropped third strikes, and no stealing until the ball crosses the plate.
How it works
Each tournament offers two divisions for teams to compete in.  Whenever there are enough teams to keep the competition levels separate there will be two divisions.  We have found that this provides teams with competitive games throughout the whole weekend rather than just during bracket play.  This allows the players to play the game at the speed and level that promotes growth while having fun playing in competitive games.

October, 18th 2016

We are very excited to release our tournament events and details for the 2017 season.  After a very successful 2016 season, we have added events in Eastern Washington and Oregon to continue to grow baseball in the Pacific Northwest.  It is our goal to provide teams with the proper competition levels in order to help players grow within the game of baseball.  We will also be introducing our own point system designed to reward teams in large events and establish a ranking system.  GSL Tournaments are no longer affiliated with USSSA.

MLB Pitch Smart | USA Baseball
WHAT IS PITCH SMART?
For the 2017 tournament season we will be using MLB Pitch Smart as our pitching regulations.  Pitch Smart is designed by the leading physicians and doctors in sports medicine and MLB trainers.  It is a series of practical, age appropriate guidelines to help parents, players and coaches avoid overuse injuries and foster long, healthy careers for youth pitchers.  To learn more about MLB Pitch Smart you can CLICK HERE.

There will be no registration fees in 2017.  GSL Tournaments provides all of the baseballs for games.  We will have a new system for coaches to provide us with highlights from their games to help us determine all tournament teams and tournament MVPs.  One of our biggest goals is to improve the experience of players, parents and coaches at our events!

We are working on some partnerships on some of our To Be Determined events to continue to grow large events in the Northwest.  We are also finalizing an affilation with some national tournament companies for our qualifying events.  We will follow up with more details in the coming weeks once we have finalized our events.  There will be more to come but for know we are very excited about our new and improved features for the 2017 tournament season.

Thank you for taking the time to consider playing with GSL Tournaments this season.  If you have any questions regarding any of our events or processes please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

GSL Tournaments
