Dear CREW Fort Worth Members,

  • We rolled out a new website better aligned with CREW Network, as well as a new email system.

Mentorship Committee
CREW Fort Worth reorganized and started a new committee – Mentorship!

Formerly known as the Legacy of Leadership (LLC) and CREW Future Leaders (CFL) Committees, the Committee’s purpose is to provide opportunities for mentoring and recognition. There are three core initiatives:

Internal Mentoring through our empowerMENT events.   At these members-only events, real estate professionals from all stages of their careers share stories and advice in an intimate setting. Whether you are just starting out or in the C-Suite, everyone has something to share – and to learn.
External Mentoring through our partnership with the Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA). In order to advance women in real estate, it is important to expose them to potential careers beginning at the high school level. Over the course of six sessions, CREW members will walk students through the life of a commercial real estate project – culminating with a property tour. Further, thanks to our generous sponsors, we are able to host YWLA students at our monthly luncheons. Be sure to introduce yourselves to these impressive young women!

Recognition through the annual awards presentation and luncheon, as well as having members serve on the Board of Directors Nominating Committee

Additionally, the Mentorship Committee will hope to engage past leaders whose schedule may not fit into a traditional committee structure.  So, if you are interested in helping with any or all of these initiatives, let us know! We would love to be able to integrate your expertise and interest in an individualized, tailored way.

If you are interested in learning more about the Mentorship Committee, please reach out to , or anyone on the Mentorship Director, Amanda Osburn.
In September 2018, CREW hosted its first mentoring event at the Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA). Twenty students from the school’s architecture and engineering track met over lunch for an overview of commercial real estate. Presenters Sarah LanCarte (LanCarte Commercial Real Estate), Monica Luera (Trademark Property Company) and Amanda Osburn (Simmons Bank) shared the process of a commercial real estate development – from initial planning to construction and property management – and the career opportunities at each step.

The mentoring series consists six sessions over the course of the 2018-19 school year. Future sessions will focus on specific areas of commercial real estate and culminate with a tour of Frost Tower in downtown Fort Worth.

Twinning & Winning in Commercial Real Estate

What would it be like to work and run a business with your sibling? More specific, your twin?! It is not uncommon to have dynamic duos working together in Real Estate, however, in Fort Worth we have 3 sets of twins who also ventured into business together. Come here our speakers:  Will Churchill & Corrie Watson , Rory & Rian McGuire , and Susan Gruppi & Jessica Miller , as they give insight to not just working with a partner, but working with a partner very similar to themselves, and how this has impacted their world of business.
