Started 2018 off with an injury—but it led to much-needed rest and introspection.

DANCE IN THE ROUND
  • Selected for Gibney Dance Center’s Moving Toward Justice Fellowship! This year will develop programs with/for Chhaya Community Development Corporation.
  • Classes with desi seniors of India Home, who performed at the Rubin Museum.
  • Chhaya's Chatpati Mela (street fair); we performed and got the 50+ audience and passersby moving!
  • Led DITR at Roosevelt Island's Fall for the Arts

O.O.F. 3.0 (studies in the opposite of fear)

  • Performed O.O.F. solo at La Mama Theater—Lovely NYT review.

  • Residencies through CUNY Dance Initiative and CPR–Center for Performance Research to develop choreography and design.

  • Ended the year with an ensemble run of O.O.F. 3.0 at CPR. Joined by dancers pictured below, and Philip Mayer (drum set)—lighting by Tuce Yasak and set design by Gian Marco Lo Forte.

ON CAMPUS
  • Taught/performed at Texas Tech, Univ. of Colorado/Denver, UCLA, and UC Irvine (as part of UCI's Contemporary Bodies in Cultural Resonance Festival, honoring Asian-Am perspectives in contemporary dance)

  • Summer intensive through Stanford University in New York

  • Especially fun—teaching technique at Lehman College/CUNY and The Spence School
