Make Time
"Be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil."  Ephesians 4:15-16. In this month, we celebrate Valentine's Day. What makes marriage work or just about anything? It seems that making good use of your time makes things work better. Think about marriage. Taking time to listen, time to talk, plan, vacation, go on day trips, date nights, beach, coffee and more. Time. It is strange to me that some people with not many responsibilities never have as much time as those who have multiple responsibilities. Perhaps poor time management leads to not having enough time to do what's important.

Here is a short list of time wasters:
-Not looking at your "to do" list.
-Piling instead of filing.
-
Constantly updating your social media status.
-
Reading email. (Only check it 3 times a day. Morning, noon, end of day.)
-Playing video games.
-Watching TV.
-Reading the news.

Sometimes it's not what you do, but what you stop doing.
So plan ahead...do the important first. Do it now rather than later. Plan to study, stop, go home, rest. Leave room for the unexpected. Prioritize what is important. Relationships are always the most important. Relationships with God, family and others. Take time to celebrate the loved ones in your life. Remember Valentine's Day. Plan ahead. Do it now.

Encouraging Meeting
Hundreds of PCN members joined us for our 2018 Annual Meeting which included a free meal provided by ChurchWest Insurance Services, informative late afternoon workshops, and an evening session of encouraging stories from many of our 18 recent church plants. We heard stories of the hundreds of baptisms that have occurred over the years; chaplains leading people to Christ in Afghanistan, hospitals and elsewhere; and encouraging stories of struggling churches being renewed. Thanks for making PCN strong and growing!

Thanks for Your Help
Thank you for your generous donation to help those affected by the recent Thomas Fire in Southern California. The money we received went directly to Seed Church in Ventura so they could help those in their area who were directly hurt by the smoke and fire. We appreciate those who contributed to this need. Thanks.
Worst Gifts
Though you certainly don't have to be frivolous, Valentine's Day may not be the best day to be super practical either. Just because she said she needs it, doesn't mean she wants it wrapped up with a bow and placed ceremoniously across her lap.
"I mentioned to my husband that we needed a new toilet seat. Six weeks later, on Valentine's Day, he presented me with...a toilet seat. Ta-da!"  Read more

Housing Allowance
The ministers' housing allowance is a very important tax benefit available to ministers. Section 107 of the Internal Revenue Code allows "ministers of the gospel" to exclude some or all of their ministerial income designated by their church or church-related employer as a housing allowance from income for federal income tax purposes. Guidestone has some excellent resources.
Pacific Church Network also offers an excellent retirement plan through Guidestone.
