Dear Families,
THANK YOU for your interest in the Missouri Gators Baseball Club (MGBC). The Missouri Gators Baseball Club is an organization dedicated to creating a world class experience for baseball players and their families. We believe that by cultivating a place where great coaches and leaders can develop and flourish, we can create this path for players looking for all levels of play. As a club, we offer opportunities for exposure and development for some of the best ball players in the entire Midwest, while also caring for the player looking for structure so they can learn to love and explore the game.
Outside of the game, the MGBC works hard to associate its brand with class and integrity. We believe what we do off the field takes precedence over our on the field accolades.
The MGBC trains out of the Sportsbarn. The Sportsbarn offers high level instruction inside of its 30,000 sq ft facility featuring a Major League size infield, cages, pitching tunnels, weight training area, and a 1st response physical therapy area (SSM – Physical Therapy).
We invite you to contact us at any time with any questions and/or concerns. We are open to learning and working to become the best club we can be for years to come.
Regarding tryout details:
All players will need to bring their baseball gear. We suggest that they wear their baseball pants and a recent jersey as well. (we will be putting runners bibs onto their shirt/jersey to identify each player)
***with the forecast of a very hot day tomorrow, please make sure your son has plenty to drink!***
The tryouts will be fast paced and they will be put through 3 stations which include:
-running/infield-outfield station
-hitting station
-pitching/catching station (for those that play these positions)
Ages 9, 10, and 11 will report to the ChesterfieldAthletic Association F-Quads for check-in starting at 4:45 and tryouts will run from 5:30PM to 7:30PM.
Ages 12, 13 and 14 will report to the ChesterfieldAthletic Association E-Quads for check-in starting at 6:45 and tryouts will run from 7:30PM to 9:30PM.
We will have MGBC Admin Assistants ready to assist you at the check-in table located at the center of either quad.
Upon arrival at the check-in table, we will have a roster # ready for your son and we will identify him based on the information you provided through the on line registration that you completed. Each age level coach will have this same list and we will therefore be able to identify your son by the assigned #.
You will receive a packet featuring all of the coaches for your age level. We have asked the coaches to share details re: what color designation will they be playing next year, will they play Fall Ball, # of available roster spots, whether they are playing league or not, # of tournaments, etc. We believe this will create an opportunity for us to create as best of a match, as fast as possible throughout the tryout.
The MGBC tryouts will be conducted by Sportsbarn instructors giving the age level coaches an opportunity to focus all of their attention to evaluating players.
We have asked that coaches do not distract players during the tryouts and that all communication with the players/families happen after the tryout. Please note that you, the parents, might receive more than one offer from coaches at the respective age level. The MGBC creates an opportunity for each coach to offer their very own opportunity … from commitment to costs to style … we are a better club because of this diversity.
Now for the hard part. We are very serious about our responsibility to the families coming to try and play for the MGBC. Unfortunately, there will not be enough spots for every single player and there will be hurt feelings. Due to our club’s success, both on and off the field, we will have an unprecedented # of players at each age level tryout. We hope that we all can collectively help each and every player play this wonderful game. These tryouts are difficult and we will all be working hard to assure the best outcome(s) possible. If you don't receive an offer of a spot within the first 48 hours, unfortunately we don't have a spot for your son.
Thank you for your interest in the MGBC,
Joe Lopez
