The City of San José Housing Department has posted its 2018 HCD Income and Rent Limits for affordable housing properties governed by the California Health and Safety Code regulations (i.e., redevelopment affordable housing set aside).
Please note that incomes this year have increased by 11%. This follows on the heels of 5% and 7% increases in 2016 and 2017, respectively. While these rent increases will help to improve operating margins for your affordable housing properties, they will have a large impact on the majority of your residents. I am asking you to consider this impact on your residents and consider a lower increase that can be spread over a longer period of time.
