2018 Raising the Roof for Charity Home - Grand Drawing and Winner Announcement

Congratulations to Corie Johnson - winner of the 2018 Raising the Roof for Charity Home! Thank you to everyone who supported this cause. Proceeds from the home will benefit Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West, St. Tammany Hospital Foundation, and the Louisiana Children's Discovery Center.

The budget passed last night shortly before midnight.  However, no revenue bills passed after several attempts.  Another special session is expected before July 1.  The major tax items debated:
  • One third penny vs one half penny renewed temporarily
  • Installation sales tax on tangible personal property (movables)
  • Sales tax rate on business utilities 
  • Manufacturing machinery and equipment sales tax exemption
