Our designated Atlanta airport hotel for the night of Friday, June 22, is the Marriott Courtyard Atlanta Airport South/Sullivan Road. The address is

Those missioners living close to Atlanta might opt to stay at home that Friday night and come directly to the Atlanta airport Saturday morning, but those living farther away will be staying at this hotel in preparation for our June 23 flight to Santo Domingo. Watch later messages for information about supper and team meeting gathering times on Friday night, and about airport arrival times on Saturday morning.

Our DR dinner and auction fundraiser on May 3 was a huge success! T
he event was an advance sellout of 104 tickets. We will net $15,563 when all monies are in. That is $1,996 more than last year and the largest amount ever in our church's history of supporting this mission work in the Dominican Republic. Most of the proceeds will support the scholarship fund for children at the Episcopal K-8 school in El Pedregal. Contributions are still being received for this fund up to June 30, 2018. Our long-time mission friends at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity (Dothan, AL) have already sent in $2,100 in scholarship funds to be added to ours, and we expect that additional funds will be coming from Trinity Episcopal Church (Statesboro, GA) -- home of Mary Marwitz and Fred Richter, two of the 2018 team members.
If you would like to contribute an additional amount, please make your tax-deductible check payable to Christ Episcopal Church with "DR Scholarship" in the memo line and send it to Christ Church to be received by June 30. The church's mailing address is below. In early July we will send all of the scholarship donations to the Diocese of the Dominican Republic for use at the school in El Pedregal. Our goal is $24,500 or 70 scholarships.
