MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
November 10 th  is upon us once again…our very own special day to recognize NET cancer and raise awareness. This is a very special day for our community and I urge each of you to do as much as you can to share this newsletter and the infographics and information around NET cancer with as many people within your network as possible. Together we can move the dial on changing some of these statistics and bring greater awareness to NETs so that patients aren’t waiting 5-7 years for diagnosis and presenting with spread of the disease upon diagnosis. Whether you are a patient, a friend, a family member, a caregiver, a medical professional, a researcher, a nurse, an allied healthcare member or a supporter please share this information with anyone who you suspect has probably never heard of NET Cancer. Together we can make a difference!  
 
While this day is incredibly important for our community the reality is many of you have already done and continue to do a tremendous amount all year long to successfully raise awareness within your communities. Maybe you have held or participated in a fundraiser which has a dual impact of raising awareness among your supporters, maybe you have talked to friends, family members, colleagues, acquaintances about NETs, sharing your story and the impact this cancer has had on you and your loved ones, maybe you shared info at one of the many NET patient education sessions that took place this past year, maybe you shared news of the passing of Aretha Franklin. Any communication about NETs at any time is raising awareness and CNETS Canada wants to recognize and thank each and every one of you for your ongoing contribution. We are an incredible community here in Canada and worldwide. Whenever and whatever you have done to raise awareness we want to hear about it so don’t be shy and please share details with me. I would love to hear from you directly at  Jackie.herman@cnetscanada.org

On Saturday, November 10 th , 2018 – World NET Cancer Day, businesses and coffee shops around the world will be raising awareness about NETs using special coffee cups designed for that day.

There is a lack of information on management and treatment of NETs.
ACCESS
NET cancer is a complicated disease. Most people wait 5-7 years for a proper diagnoses.
RESEARCH
Unmet needs in basic understanding of what makes tumours form and grow, earlier diagnosis, and optimal treatment.

Is a Canadian based private Facebook Support Group for NET patients. The group was formed to help connect and support NET patients from across Canada.

Currently with over 580 members, the group is a place to share personal experiences, doctor recommendations, treatments, clinical trials and information to aid in navigating the Canadian healthcare system. Kindness, support and love to all.

In order to join this group, you confirm that you are a NET cancer patient, or a caregiver of a NET cancer patient.

Group members are also asked to review and agree to adhere to the SUPPORT GROUP GUIDELINES
