PROVIDING BOUNTIFUL TABLES!
NFSB Thanksgiving Initiative Feeds Close To 150 Households.
Thanksgiving Initiative
NFSB gratefully acknowledges the many community partners and generous individuals who helped to make the Food Pantry Thanksgiving Initiative possible. As a result, all of the Food Pantry participants were able to partake in a bountiful Thanksgiving meal. In addition to their regular distribution bags, close to 150 households were offered a turkey and trimmings for a complete Thanksgiving meal. The volunteers were amazing!

GREATER NEWARK HOLIDAY FUND SUPPORTS NUTLEY FAMILY SERVICE BUREAU
Case Histories From The NFSB Files
NFSB Volunteers Team
Nutley Family Service Bureau is one of eleven Northern New Jersey non-profit social service agencies that have been the recipient of Greater Newark Holiday Fund support in recent years. This November, the GNHF highlighted the diverse work of our agency in a series of case histories published in the Star Leger. The real-life files focus on food insecurity, substance abuse, family separation/custody, and social/emotional adjustment related to disability. They provide a snap shot of the range of interventions provided by NFSB.

THERAPIST VIEWPOINT FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Relationship Triangles and Defining A Self.
Winter Lanscape
Thanksgiving is often idealized as an occasion during which family and friends gather around an outsized meal, and give thanks for health, achievements, and each other, but for some families, members wait until the end of the night when they can give thanks for getting away from each other and old familial tensions. It’s no secret holidays can resurrect old dysfunction, regress individuals to familiar roles, and create anxiety. Although I wasn’t surprised when these phenomena appeared at a Thanksgiving hosted by my youngest brother, I was surprised their catalyst was my foray into turkey carving.
