HOMECOMING 2018 Recap
The 2018 Leadership Montgomery Homecoming was a hit! More than 325 LM Graduates and community leaders gathered at the Silver Spring Civic Building to network, welcome the 2019 Class participants, and hear our LM Annual Update. We also had some SERIOUS FUN as we played Match Game with our Celebrity Panel: Gigi Godwin (CORE 2004)- President and CEO, Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce; Kelly Leonard (CORE 2017) –CEO, Taylor Leonard Corporation; Carla Reid (CORE 2019 participant)- CEO, WSSC; Julie Verratti,- Co-Founder Denizen’s Brewing Company; Michael Brown, (EL 2015)- Planning Supervisor, MD-Nat’l Cap Park and Planning; and Greg Smith, (CORE 2019 participant) – Regional Manager, M&T Bank.

We also kicked off our annual Holiday Giving efforts which connects us to the County-wide Holiday Giving Project. Thanks to the generosity of our attendees, we collected more than 100 unwrapped toys to jumpstart our efforts.

LM Kicks off Holiday Giving Project
Leadership Montgomery is proud to connect our Members and friends to opportunities to support our local community through our quarterly LM serves days. Our Holiday Giving efforts connect us to the county-wide Holiday Giving Project where we partner with the Kennedy Cluster Project to support underserved families in an area of high need in Silver Spring. For more than 30 years, the Holiday Giving Project of Montgomery County has helped residents in need celebrate Thanksgiving and the December holidays. A coalition of more than 20 non-profits, local government agencies, and faith groups volunteer to collect and distribute donations of holiday food, gift cards, or toys to recipients referred by social workers, school counselors, and other human service professionals....
Emerging Leaders Hits Milestone with 5th Class
Last month, Leadership Montgomery welcomed the 5th cohort of the Emerging Leaders program. In 2014, LM decided to create a new program focused on training the county’s leaders of tomorrow.This intensive experience was designed to inform, educate, and connect rising leaders who are between the ages of 25 and 35, and live or work in Montgomery County, to the resources and expertise of other local leaders...
Corporate Volunteer Award Nominations Now Open
At the Leadership Montgomery Corporate Volunteer Awards Luncheon, we recognize local businesses for their support to the Montgomery County community through employee volunteer engagement. We are now accepting nominations for awards in the following categories:

  • Sole Proprietor of the Year
  • Emerging Employee Volunteer Program
  • Evolving Employee Volunteer Program
  • Innovative Employee Volunteer Program
  • Partnership of the Year

Nominations are open through December 1, 2018.
