Please note that many of our 2018 courses, as well as gs Teacher Training and our Transformative Fundraising Program all have APPLICATIONS DEADLINES IN JANUARY!

Dear gs community,

generative somatics (gs) works to support social and environmental justice movements that possess the creativity and power needed to transform society. We do this by bringing somatic transformation to movement leaders, organizations, coalitions, and alliances -- using embodied leadership and  trauma and oppression healing, so that we can powerfully lead with love and rigor, and align our actions with our values.

We are excited to announce our:

In alignment with our Strategic Priorities, in 2018, gs will be prioritizing supporting movements working toward freedom from political repression and state violence and toward building scalable alternatives (such as transformative justice); and those forwarding environmental and climate justice.  If your work is connected to those issue areas, we especially encourage you to connect with us, spread the word, and apply!

See more about our program areas below--

We look forward to seeing many of you on the mat!

In solidarity,
Chris on behalf of the gs Staff team

Movement Partnerships

In 2018, gs will partner and collaborate with organizations and alliances that are vision and values aligned to support embodied leadership and facilitate healing and transformation toward freedom, possibility, and powerful collective action. We will continue our work with long time partners and
will also be building new partnerships in alignment with our 2018-2020 Strategic Priorities.

Are you currently working with a group that is organizing to resist political repression and state violence and/or creating alternatives? Are you currently working with a group that is organizing toward environmental and/or climate justice? If you're interested in finding out more about gs, we want to hear from you - please contact us

gs Teacher Training (gsTT)

Each year we grow our gs Teacher Training program.  We invite gs alumni from courses and Movement Partnerships into this rigorous training, and into teachership of somatics. Are you interested in leading embodied transformation and trauma healing with movement leaders and formations? Have you experienced somatic transformation yourself and want to learn how to bring that to your communities and the people you fight with and for? Are you looking to make a long-term commitment to yourself, your development, and the spread of generative somatics' work? If your answer to these questions is yes, please consider applying. If you've trained with someone you think would be amazing fit, please also pass this along!
gs Practitioners Network (gsPN)

Join the gs Practitioners Network, and get organized as a somatic healer and coach! The gsPN offers support to organizers, members and leaders doing vital work for social and environmental justice. We launched the gsPN in 2017, and are already supporting organizers and members across the country. If you are interested in joining, or developing as a somatic practitioner, or if you work with an organization that has leaders who could use this kind of support,  please contact us at gsPN@generativesomatics.org .

Monthly Supervision Calls:
Join the community of somatic practitioners deepening their skills in embodied transformation. In 2018, we will continue offering monthly supervision calls run by Staci K. Haines and other senior gs practitioners.
*PLEASE NOTE*
gs is committed to economic justice and to challenging white supremacy, capitalism, ableism and all systems of oppression in every aspect of our work. As part of that, we have a commitment to making our programs accessible and affordable to poor and working class people and people of color who are on the frontlines of social and environmental justice movements.

We are committed to making sure that money is not a barrier to participation. Please find more information about our updated sliding scale course fee structure here. This is also included in each course description linked above.
In these times of seemingly relentless conditions, gs will gather community for practice and conversation. Together on this national video/call, we'll do core somatic practices and hear from key movement leaders about their experience and perspective about the contribution somatics has and can make in the two issue areas we plan to focus on in upcoming years -- 1) Freedom from Political Repression & State Violence, and 2) Environmental and Climate Justice.

Tuesday December 12th

By December 31st, our goal is to raise $325,000 from individual donations. This will  support gs to fully implement our 20 18-2020 Strategic Priorities and  make the programs listed above a success.  Please consider what a meaningful and centered contribution could be for you. Please  become a sustaining donor or contribute a one-time gift today.
Thank you for all the ways you make this work possible!
