Just over one month ago, we completed our 2017-2018 legislative session. It was an eventful 40 days on Capitol Hill as we tackled issues such as tax reform; healthcare access; education reform; and infrastructure to help foster economic development and growth, especially in rural areas.
Governor Deal has until May 8, to veto or sign all bills passed. Those receiving no action from the governor automatically go into effect on July 1, the beginning of our fiscal year. The month of May also brings about our state primary elections. Early voting has already begun so please make sure to go VOTE!
Now that I have returned home, I will spend the remainder of the year working with constituents and traveling the district. I will also await word from Senate leadership who may appoint me to study committees during the off session season. As always, thank you for your support and allowing me the opportunity to serve our district and state. If you need anything, please contact me anytime. God bless you my friends!
