Planning & Development Updates

 
Currently, the Planning & Development Department has 13 active projects. Once completed, approximately 288 jobs will be created or retained and the projects will yield $25 million in capital investments. 
 
For 2018, two projects have been completed. These projects are estimated to create or retain 69 jobs and yield $10.9 million in capital investments.

State of the City 2018

Join us for Mayor Kneeland's annual State of the City address on  Thursday, March 22, 2018. This year's address will take place in the Dining Hall at Columbus Academy, 4300 Cherry Bottom Road. An open house featuring City departments, community and service organizations will take place at 6 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 7 p.m.
 
The presentation will be in an interview format. Gahanna business owner, resident and former OSU football player Obie Stillwell, host of 98.9 FM Real Estate Stocks & Jocks, will interview Mayor Kneeland.
 
This year's theme, "Strengthening Our Community," will focus on the City's accomplishments from 2017, progress on the mayor's Commitment to Gahanna10-Point Plan, Economic Development Plan, GoForward Gahanna Strategy and what's in store for 2018.

Gahanna Senior League to Host Organization Meeting

The Gahanna Senior Golf League will host an organizational meeting on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Gahanna Senior Center, 480 Rocky Fork Blvd. 

The meeting is for interested individuals to learn how they can participate in the league and hear about special events planned for 2018. 

The Senior Golf League is open to members of the Gahanna Senior Center age 55+ and the cost to join the league is $10. Membership to the Gahanna Senior Center is also open to individuals 55+. The annual cost to join the Center for residents is $20 and $30 for non-residents. For more information about the Senior Golf League and programs at the Gahanna Senior Center call 614.342.4265.

Membership with Gahanna Aquatics gives pass holders access to BOTH of our public facilities - Gahanna Swimming Pool and Hunters Ridge Pool - and free or reduced entry fees for more special events throughout the pool season.
 
Purchase a membership before May 31 for a series of three payments, and in June for two payments.

Celebrate Earth Day with Parks & Rec

Get outside and celebrate Earth Day this April with Gahanna Parks & Recreation! Beginning Wednesday, April 18 - Wednesday, April 25, join in a scavenger hunt powered by Amaze Escape Games to explore 138 acres of woodlands, trails and creek way between Woodside Green and Academy Parks. Find clues and earn points to prevails as the Earth Day Hunt Champions.
 
Then, join the department on Sunday, April 22 at 1 p.m. at Woodside Green Park, 340 Camrose Ct., to assist in building a new natural play area for the community to enjoy. Both events are supported by the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation.
 
 
Gahanna Residential Paper Shredding & Electronic Recycling Event

Join us for the Gahanna Residential Paper Shredding and Electronic Recycling Event on Saturday, April 21, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. - noon in the parking lot of Gahanna City Hall, 200 S. Hamilton Rd.  
 
Gahanna residents can drop off their family and household records for shredding, computers and other electronic devices for recycling.

Glow Run Promises Fun Night for All

Enjoy Creekside Park  
with Gahanna Parks & Recreation for a new event supported by the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation on Saturday, May 5 at Creekside Park, 117 Mill St. The race will begin at 8:30 pm. The route will utilize the Creekside area including trails along the Big Walnut Creek. The fun will continue with post-race events and specials in the Creekside District. The race path will be illuminated with glow sticks for safety and participants are encouraged to wear their own glow attire! All levels of runners and walkers are welcome for this fun race.
Celebrate All Things Herbal with Herbs in the Alley and Herb Day

Celebrate all things herbal this Mother's Day weekend with Herbs in the Alley and Herb Day.
Join the Ohio Herb Education Center at Herbs in the Alley on Friday, May 11 from 6:30 -9:30 p.m. at 110 Mill St. for an evening with friends mingling among the herbs and learning from leaders in the herbal community. Local wineries and a food truck will be on hand for wine flights and a light meal.
 
Save the date for Herb Day on Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Creekside Plaza, 117 Mill St.
This event is presented by Fresh Thyme Farmers Market-Gahanna with support from the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation.

Seasonal Job Fair

Looking for seasonal help?  Be a part of the Gahanna Area Chamber of Commerce's (GACC) Seasonal Job Fair  on Friday, April 27, 2018.
 
The job fair will take place from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the gymnasium at Gahanna Lincoln High School, 140 S. Hamilton Rd.

This event will be well attended by Gahanna high school students eager to find summer jobs.

Cleaner Green Gahanna

Interested in helping to keep Gahanna beautiful? The community is invited to participate in Make Gahanna Yours' annual community clean-up day, Cleaner Greener Gahanna. Join your friends and neighbors on April 28, 2018, from 10 a.m - noon litter throughout the city.

Herb'n Restaurant Week Returns

Visit Gahanna's popular Herb'n Restaurant Week is back for its second year beginning  May 7- May 12, 2018, celebrating herb-inspired culinary magic created by Gahanna  area restaurants.  

This year, a variety of signature Gahanna restaurants and bakeries have challenged their chefs to create original dishes inspired by herbs including cilantro, basil, thyme, mint, lavender, sage, and lemongrass.  Diners will reap the rewards through appetizers, main dishes, creative cocktails and decadent desserts -all created to speak to the palette and the senses.
