NEW IBERIA, La. –
The Iberia Preservation Alliance invites the public to attend the poster art reveal on Tues., Jan. 9 for the 2018 Books Along the Teche Literary Festival..
Be among the first to see the poster at one of Dave Robicheaux's favorite eateries Victor's Cafeteria at 10 a.m. The art was created by Ron Cutrera, whose submission won the approval of the poster contest judges and the festival’s Steering Committee.
About the Artist:
Ron Cutrera is a well-known local artist who lives in New Iberia, and has been actively painting for more than 40 years.
The artist described his inspiration for the poster, "In the process of thinking about how to create a unique painting in the context of the Books Along the Teche Literary Festival guidelines, the first picture that popped in my head was that of a musician who seems to be playing an accordion. But in fact, the figure is 'playing' a book, out of which is flowing a symbol of the Bayou Teche. At the same time, a symbol of the beautiful words and stories is flowing from the book like music.
"Then I had to think of a backdrop, and I decided to feature two New Iberia landmarks which are conveniently located adjacent to each other--the Sliman and the Bayou Teche Museum. I am very honored to be chosen as this year's poster artist."

Posters will be on sale at Books Along the Teche (106 E. Main St, New Iberia) and Shadows-on-the-Teche (317 E. Main St, New Iberia) following the unveiling at Victor's Cafe. Cutrera takes commissioned work featuring portraits, landscapes and still life paintings. For more information, email
