A Message from Our Head of School
Dear St. Philip’s Families,

I pray that this note finds your family healthy and continuing to adjust to the nuances of our new learning reality. The safety and well-being of our community members continues to be our priority. Per Governor DeSantis’ Executive Order issued on April 18th, the campus of St. Philip’s Episcopal School will remain closed throughout the 2019 - 2020 school year. We will continue remote learning through Friday, May 29th. While our disappointment may mirror your own, and those of the students, we believe this is the best decision at this time. We will be in touch regarding picking up personal possessions and any end-of-year traditions that may be held virtually.

It is incumbent upon us to continue to provide instruction to all of our students during this campus closure, from PreK3 through 5th grade, and to keep them academically engaged and socially connected at this time. We have developed a philosophy and a family guide for our remote learning program, and I invite you to review the details on our website.

Next week, I will be available to answer any questions you may have about the plan and the remainder of the school year. See the Google Hangout schedule below. You will receive an invitation for your class the day before your meeting.

5th Grade - 04/21 @ 4:00 - 4:30 p.m.
4th Grade - 04/21 @ 4:30 - 5:00 p.m.
3rd Grade - 04/22 @ 4:00 - 4:30 p.m.
2nd Grade - 04/22 @ 4:30 - 5:00 p.m.
1st Grade - 04/23 @ 4:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Kindergarten - 04/23 @ 4:30 - 5:00 p.m.
PreK4 - 04/27 @ 4:00 - 4:30 p.m.
PreK3 - 04/27 @ 4:30 - 5:00 p.m.

My deepest gratitude goes to those of you who have provided praise for our faculty as well as constructive feedback regarding this challenging process. In particular, I am grateful to those of you who answered the call to serve on focus groups. We are working above and beyond to continue to teach the youngest learners remotely and to keep them all connected. This journey has highlighted that a strong teacher–parent partnership is critical to ensure the learning continuity of our students. Your support during this time has been invaluable.

Respectfully,

Dr. Jasmine B. Harris
