Another group that makes a huge difference in our success are our Dragon Volunteers . Each year, volunteers donate over 20,000 hours of valuable service to our school. This service is critical in helping us close the charter school funding gap we face every year by providing the equivalent of ten employees’ worth of work. Dragon Volunteer Opportunities!
100 MILE CLUB REGISTRATION
The 100 Mile Club mission is to provide all individuals the opportunity to experience fitness and TRUE personal success by Accepting the Challenge of running (or walking) 100 miles at school during a single school year.”

100 Mile Club Starts September 3!
Days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays
Time: 7:15-7:45AM


Everyone is welcome no matter fitness level or grade level. We do not compete, but encourage growth and the ability to work towards a goal in an inclusive and positive environment.
DRAGON CAFE IS BACK!
DRAGON CAFE: PBIS
Date: Tuesday, September 10
Time: 8:30-9:30AM
Location: LMC

Our administrative staff will be on hand to answer questions regarding our new PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) system. Bring your mug and have a cup of coffee, tea, or juice and your questions!
ACTIVITY FEES AND PAYMENTS
Pay your Student Activity Fees! They are due by October 1, 2019. You may pay through RevTrak , with cash, or by check (payable to Flagstaff Academy).

2019-2020 Student Activity Fees
Our Annual Student Activity Fees go toward purchasing essential items such as:
  • Student workbooks
  • Consumable classroom supplies
  • Software licensing for technology programs
  • Buses and tickets for field trips
  • Elementary specials program materials
  • Middle School electives/essentials
  • Educational guests
  • School supplies (copy paper, tissues, paper towels, disinfectant wipes, etc.)
GIFTED AND TALENTED NOMINATIONS
Flagstaff Academy will be conducting Gifted and Talented screenings for all 3rd grade students during the 2019-2020 academic school year. At this time, parents of students in grades K-8, other than 3rd grade, who wish to nominate their student for GT testing may do so. 

To nominate your student, please visit the Front Office and pick up a District nomination form, as well as a parent input form. All forms must be returned to the main office by Tuesday, September 3, 2019 . Incomplete nomination forms will not be accepted. Student records will then be evaluated and testing needs determined.

MIDDLE SCHOOL PINGREE PARK
Wednesday, September 18-Friday, September 20, 2019
We're getting ready for Pingree Park , one of the most unique and amazing aspects of the middle school experience at Flagstaff Academy! Please note the following important deadlines and information:

Payment
Cost to attend Pingree Park is $160 and includes all meals. Payments can be made through RevTrak cash or check (payable to Flagstaff Academy with "Pingree Park" in the memo).
Medications
All medications must be turned in starting  Tuesday, August 27 through Wednesday, September 11 , one week before departure. Remember, no medications will be accepted on the day of the departure. 
Parent and Chaperone Volunteer Information Meeting

You must apply through the Dragon Volunteer site and the deadline for signing up is Friday, August 30 .

Financial Assistance: We want as many of our middle school students to benefit from this experience; therefore, if the cost of the trip is a concern, we have financial assistance available. DRAGON FLIGHT BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE
Dragon Flight offers  before school care  starting at 7:00 a.m.,  after school care   running until 6:00 p.m.,   late-start drop-in care ,  non-school day care , and so much more. Register here!

FLAGSTAFF ACADEMY PTO
SAVE THE DATE -- DRAGON DASH 2019!
Dragon Dash – the PTO's largest fundraiser – will take place on Friday, October 4TH! This year’s event will be "Mind Spark Mystery Lab Wild West" and offers every student the opportunity to run, jog or walk in order to raise money for our school and it’s amazing STEM programs. Watch this space and Friday Folders for more information on how you and your students can get involved.
