From Tom Coulter:

Community Development Committee Meeting (agenda link below)
5 pm, Thursday, August 1, 2019, County Board Room at Gov't Center
Climate Change and county control of livestock siting resolutions will be consuming discussion minutes. If you have thoughts please come an make them during public comments. I will be opposing both. Climate change is not county business and I don't buy into the human caused theories anyway.

A bi-partisan legislature and Democrat Governor Doyle enacted the current state livestock siting bill. Many livestock operations operate in more than one county. It was designed to make the rules uniform across the state and reduce conflicting bureaucratic red tape and enforcement burdens for one of the largest industries in Wisconsin.

Also on the agenda, is the recommendation of a new zoning revision for consideration of the full Board at the August 6th meeting. I haven't reviewed it to know whether a number of well thought changes suggested at our July 11th public hearing have been included. Also, town officials have indicated that they need more time to review. For those reasons I will not vote to recommend it at this time.
