Legislative Initiatives

Jay Woodcock, AIA, Government Affairs Director for our chapter, participated in AIA New York State Lobby Day on May 8th with other AIA Members around the state. He met with senators and members of the assembly representing the constituents in the greater Rochester area. Click here for a full report of initiatives.

AIA Rochester - Centennial Instagram Campaign

Our Centennial Instagram project has been underway since January 1st! Follow us on Instagram at @aiaroc. The images are also being cross-posted on Facebook at AIA Rochester. Thanks to the efforts of GG Garzon, Associate AIA - our new Social Media Director, and the beautiful images from our member firms, our Instagram 365 Initiative has reached over 1.6K people on Facebook alone.

We are now looking for images for our second round starting in early June. All firms are welcome and encouraged to participate in one of our public advocacy campaigns for 2019! All you need to do is email us 10 images (preferably JPG - 300dpi), include your firm name, provide a short description of each photo, and list the name of the photographer. Images of buildings, a specific image of a building element, community project, or a firm event. The goal is to promote local architecture firms, local architects and local good design.
