Members of the NMAHA welcome you to the R&J Arena in Verndale, MN for our two back-to-back AHA competitions. On Saturday we have an AHA ODS with the usual line up of main ring classes plus the ever popular Poker In-hand Trail jackpot class.

The Wisconsin Desert Horse Association Youth group is in its second year on a new jo urney through equine studies with earning achievements as they test their skills on various topics of general equine knowledge and topics specific to the Arabian Horse breed in our M.A.N.E. (My
Arabians  Need Equestrians) program. Recognition is given at the Basic, Intermediate, and Master Class levels.

This is an online program in Google Classroom that consists of study
materials and online quizzes  in which they earn points towards their achievement patch. There are also hands on activities such as educational days, clinics, WDHA general meetings as well as WDHA Youth meetings. The Youth also have an opportunity to develop leadership skills by participating as an officer on the board of the WDHA Youth group.

We are well into horse season in Region XI this year. Several shows have already taken place. Our one drawback was the postponement of the March Twister CTRs. Due to extremely poor weather conditions, the ride had to be postponed for the safety of the horses and riders. The good news is that it is happening this weekend as you will see in the update under approved rides below. We do have several more equine activities coming up in 2019, so best wishes to all in your horse endeavors! We have lots to offer so please plan on joining us here in Region XI and enjoying yourself!

There is more encouraging news about the progress on the coliseum at the IL State Fairgrounds! Joe Khayyat, Non-Fair Events Manager, wrote to Dave Waggoner with a summary of the construction plans for the Coliseum. The contractors "stand by their commitment to complete the project by July 20." He also states that there may still be some noise "or distraction, but we should be well beyond the demolition phase as well as the installation of the new roof at that point. They should be done with their heavy lifting and the use of most of their heavy equipment by then." He goes on to write, "I think you'll find the impact to be minimal...By the time your show comes around though, we should have worked out most of the kinks...sailing toward the finish line."

We do know that parking by the Food-a-Rama will be affected as a construction trailer will be parked there until the job is done. Check out the photos posted on Facebook and you will see the amazing progress on the Coliseum!
