2019 AHAI Coach of the Year Nomination Process Now Open!
AHAI recognizes that Illinois Hockey is comprised not only of incredible players, but also of great High School, Youth, Girls and Disabled Hockey Coaches who guide our teams both on and off the ice. Candidates for AHAI’s Boys and Girls High School, Youth, Girls and Disabled Hockey Coach of the Year Awards should embody good sportsmanship and respect toward teams, parents and officials while providing a positive experience for their players. Candidates should also teach positive life skills while demonstrating dedication, passion and commitment to community. Deadline to nominate is Friday, February 8, 2019.

Good Luck to Team USA & Evergreen Park's Abbey Murphy!
Abbey Murphy and her U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team teammates are currently competing for their fifth consecutive gold medal at the 2019 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women’s World Championship in Obihiro, Japan. The IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship will be played for the 12th time in 2019 and will include teams from Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Japan, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States.

Girls United Hockey is a unique "Girls-Only" program (for players ages 4 to 10 years old) designed to introduce the game of hockey in a FUN, low key, no pressure environment with emphasis on skill development, meeting new friends and fostering a love for the game. Check out our video to learn what we are all about. Attention all high school sophomore, junior and senior girls! It's never too early to think about college and your desire to play hockey at the collegiate level. This year's America's Showcase will be held April 11-15, 2019 in St. Louis, Missouri.
New Trier Must Regroup From Average December To Repeat As State Champions
New Trier has been a dominant force in Metro Girls all season, but they stumbled into the winter break 2-2-1 in their final 5 games. Still, the Trevians are 10-2-1 with a league-leading 106 goals-for and only 21 goals-against. Will the Trevians repeat as state champions, as the program celebrates its 20th year? That’s a safe bet.
Metro Girls High School Hockey League Update
Action in the first half of the season has wrapped up and the Scholastic and Founders Cup divisions have been set. 2018 Was Golden

The 2018 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team rallied in the third period against Canada to force overtime and then won in a shootout to capture its first Olympic gold since the inaugural year women’s ice hockey was part of the Games in 1998. Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson spectacular shootout goal was the game-winner and Maddie Rooney made the final save to set off the golden celebration.
