2019 Mission Trip

Our 2018 Team Is On A Poster
There's no change to report on the membership of our 2018 team for the June 17-24 trip. As of this morning, sixteen missioners have committed to join the 2019 team. The list of missioners is on the trip planning page here . The deadline to join the team remains January 31, 2019, or whenever the 18 slots fill up -- whichever comes first.

We had planned to use this message to ask for feedback on our proposed list of projects, but Julia has been down for several days with bronchitis and we just have not been able to make progress on this. Next week, we hope to have this section ready for comments. We will use that feedback to prepare for our trip to El Pedregal on February 5-7 where we will be meeting with Padre Canela and others in the community to make more plans for our trip.

But on a happier note, our 2018 team is included in a poster that has the group photographs of all of the mission teams working in the Episcopal Diocese of the Dominican Republic last year. If you need a hint to find us, we're the only team with green shirts. A 20x30" print of this poster will be framed and presented to our fellow missioner Jeannette's husband, the Rt. Rev. Mois├ęs Quezada, during the next board meeting of the Dominican Development Group (DDG) on February 11 in Santo Domingo. The DDG is the consortium of the eleven Episcopal dioceses that support DR mission teams, and Julia and I are proud to represent the Diocese of Georgia in that group.
