Scholarship Thank-You Notes Are In!
The scholarship thank-you notes from the school children in El Pedregal arrived a few days ago, and we're currently scanning them to post online for everyone to enjoy. During this process, we're taking the extra steps of removing the children's birth dates and last names. It will take another day or so to get them all online, but you can see the initial set by clicking here.
As you might remember, we raised $31,150 to support 89 children in the Episcopal K-8 school in El Pedregal for the 2018-19 academic year. Each scholarship costs US$350, and we have already received several such donations for the upcoming 2019-20 academic year. If you would like to contribute to this fund, please send a check for that amount made out to the "DR Scholarship Fund" to Christ Church (mailing address at the bottom of this message). This is a tax-deductible donation. For general information on the scholarship program for all 26 Dominican Episcopal schools, click here.
Three silver and Larimar crosses remain available, and Fr. Dave's latest book of sermons with a cover photograph from our 2012 mission trip will be on sale again in the parish hall on December 16 (and in the church office on weekdays). For detailed information on those two fundraising projects, click here.
Fourteen missioners have committed to join the team, and their names are on the trip planning page (link below). Four slots on the team are still available. The deadline to join the team remains January 31, 2019, or whenever the 18 slots fill up -- whichever comes first. For detailed information on how to join the team, click here.
