The decision on flights for the 2019 trip has been made. All missioners will have the choice of starting the trip either at the Valdosta airport or at the Atlanta airport on Monday, June 17. All will fly back to Atlanta on June 24, where missioners can decide on their own to leave the trip in Atlanta or to fly on to Valdosta that same night.

No one should purchase flight tickets now. We will be back from the Dominican Republic on Thursday, October 25, and will send out another message soon after that with details on the procedure to apply formally to join the team. Those accepted will proceed to send in a $100 deposit and then purchase flight tickets originating either in Valdosta or Atlanta. The team will have a maximum of 18 missioners.
We are pleased to announce that one of those missioners will be Mary Jeannette Pringle de Quezada, the wife of the Rt. Rev. Moisés Quezada, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of the Dominican Republic. Jeannette was a member of our 2018 team, and worked with the sewing and Vacation Bible School classes plus helped to paint the playground structure and translate for other missioners. We recently let Jeannette know about the dates selected for the 2019 trip, and she replied immediately that she would like to join us again. We mentioned this to Bishop Quezada when we were in a meeting with him in Tampa earlier this week, and he said that he was delighted that Jeannette would be on our team again.
We regret to announce that another veteran missioner, Grady Lacy, will not be on the 2019 team for health reasons. However, he will be an
enthusiastic member of the Home Team and will follow our adventures from afar.
If you read this message soon after it goes out on October 18, we will be at the departure gate in the Atlanta airport for our flight to Santo Domingo about that same time. We will be in the Dominican Republic from October 18-25 and in El Pedregal from October 22-24, visiting with our friends in the village, working with Padre Canela on plans for the 2019 trip, and witnessing the marriage of Leidy and Jesús. We are carrying a set of cards of congratulations from several missioners to give to them on their wedding day. You can follow along on this trip on Julius' Facebook page: <
