2019 Mission Trip
to the Dominican Republic
Christ Episcopal Church
Valdosta, Georgia
No Decision on Flights Yet
As you probably know, our 2019 mission trip is scheduled for June 17-24, Monday to Monday. The approach of Hurricane Michael has put us behind on rounding up all the information needed to make the decision on whether Valdosta-based missioners will start their trip at the Valdosta airport (2017 pattern) or the Atlanta airport (2018 pattern). We'll continue to work on that and will announce the decision as soon as we can.

We are going to be in Tampa on Sunday afternoon-Monday evening, October 14-15, attending a meeting of of about 30 representatives from the 12 Episcopal dioceses who support mission teams in the Dominican Republic. The Bishop of the Diocese of the Dominican Republic is a member of that group, and will be announcing a new set of priorities for mission team projects in 2019. His announcements might affect the work we will be planning for the 2019 trip, and we'll let everyone know about those developments in the next message.

We still are planning to be in the Dominican Republic from October 18-25 and in El Pedregal from October 22-24, visiting with our friends in the village and working with Padre Canela on plans for the 2019 trip. Leidy and Jesús are planning their wedding for October 23, with us as witnesses to honor our mission team. If you would like for us to take a congratulatory card or letter from you to add to the wedding celebration, please send that card to us to arrive by Monday, October 15. Our USPS mailing address is below. We will also be at Christ Church's 10 a.m. service on October 14 if someone would like to hand-deliver a card for them to us before or after that worship service.
