This time of year, cold stress that can result in hypothermia or frostbite is a hazard of which employers must be aware, particularly if they have outdoor workers.

 With the right preparation and presence of mind, both employers and employees can prevent these injuries.
Reminder: Ohio's Prompt Pay Law

The timely payment of premiums is important to keep your group's coverage in force and to ensure uninterrupted processing of covered employees' claims. 

Premium payments are due in full on the first day of the month. If you have not paid your premiums by the due date, to comply with the Ohio Prompt Pay Law, your insurer may deny claims received for services rendered during the delinquent period until premiums are paid in full by the end of the grace period.

The Ohio Prompt Pay Law requires that insurers take action within thirty (30) days of receipt of a claim and provide notice to members and providers of the status of the claim at that time. An employer's failure to pay their premiums by the due date may cause their covered employees' and their covered dependents' claims to be denied with the following reason: "Policyholder's premium not paid to date".

To avoid such claim denials, please be sure to pay your premiums by the due date. If you have questions about premium payment or setting up EFT, please contact your Advisor today.
