Please be sure to read all information thoroughly so you are most prepared for race day.

Packet pick-up for ALL events will be held at the Fleet Feet Health & Wellness Expo . The Expo will be held at Fleet Feet (155 Culver Road, Rochester, NY 14620). Be sure to check out the great deals on running apparel, accessories, footwear and official marathon merchandise.

Race Information
Take pride in our city - please keep it clean and do not drop anything on the ground anywhere on the course. Please be courteous, and don't litter.

The Blue Cross Arena will be open before, during and after the race, which means the restrooms on both levels will be available for use.

Start & Finish Line Details
The Half Marathon & Relay Start is in the middle of the bridge on Broad Street. Please give yourself time to get to the start line as it MUST Be BACK LOADED.
 
The 5K Start is 300' in front of the Half Marathon start. You will have to wait until AFTER the Half Marathon is started, and then you MUST BACK LOAD into the starting corral.

The Kids 1.1 Mile Start is at the corner of Exchange and Court Street. Look for the Kids Run Wild Flags.
 
The Finish Line is located right outside of the main entrances to the Blue Cross Arena on Exchange Blvd.
 
Timing Details - Half Marathon, 5K & Kids Race
Your timing chip will be on the back of your bib. YOU MUST MUST MUST WEAR YOUR BIB VISIBLY ON THE FRONT OF YOUR TORSO. We will be using the MyLaps BibTag System. If you lose your bib, forget it, misplace it etc, there is a $5 replacement fee. No chip, no time. You will get the Bib Chip during packet pickup. Be sure to wear your bib chip visibly on your torso, not your shorts, not your back, not your arm, not under a jacket etc. In addition, don't place your water bottle belt or other obstruction over the top of it and be careful hitting stop on your watch as you cross the finish line, as systems have a hard time reading through the human body.  Also, no bib no medal!

Timing Details - Relay
Both Relay Team members will receive a bib with the team name on it. Neither of these bibs will have the timing chip attached to it. Your team will also receive ONE bib with the word "TIMING" on it. This timing bib has a timing chip attached to the back and it will be attached to a belt. This belt will have to be passed & worn by each member of the team while running their respective legs. Leg 1 will wear it first and then pass it to Leg 2 at the Relay Exchange. The timing belt will be collected at the finish line. Please return the timing belt at the finish.

Shuttle Buses to Relay Exchange
F REE Shuttle bus service will be provided to relay members ONLY to and from the Relay Exchange. You must wear your bib to get on the bus. NO BIB, NO BUS! Shuttle pick-up at the Blue Cross Arena will be in the Southbound lane of Exchange Blvd (by the finish line).

The Relay Exchange is at the top of Pinetum Dr/Reservoir Ave in Highland Park. There is no parking at the Relay Exchange. There is limited seating on the buses, so only participants with bibs will be allowed. No spectators are allowed on the shuttle buses.

  • 7:25 am - Shuttles (2 buses) leaves Blue Cross Arena to bring participants to the Relay Exchange
  • 8:45 am - Shuttle leaves Relay Exchange to return participants to Blue Cross Arena. The bus can only carry 50 people so please get on the bus quickly upon finish. If full, you'll need to take second bus.
  • 9:30 am - Shuttle leaves Relay Exchange to return participants to Blue Cross Arena. The bus can only carry 50 people so please get on the bus quickly upon finish.
  • The buses will not swing back to relay exchange to pick people up. They will leave at the designated times listed above.

Once the Shuttle Buses arrive to the Relay Exchange, they will stay there until their time to return to Blue Cross Arena. So you will be able to remain on the bus while you wait, if desired.

Participant Shirts, Bibs & Medals
Shirts: Sizes for shirts were guaranteed if registered by March 15th. The sizing for participants who registered on March 16th or later will be first come based on when you come to the Expo to pick up your packet.

  • Half Marathon - participants will receive a gender-specific, long-sleeve, technical shirt
  • Half Marathon Relay - participants will receive a short-sleeve, technical shirt
  • 5K - participants will receive a cotton t-shirt

All participants who registered by March 15th will get their name pre-printed on a custom bib.

All finishers with a bib will receive a unique finishers medallion as they cross the finish line. For Relay teams, w e will be giving Relay Member 1 their medal when they finish their first leg at the top of Pinetum.

Post Race Services
Following the event, please join us inside the Blue Cross Arena for our post race celebration. There will be a Post Race Party with plenty of goodies from Wegmans! All participants (with bib, license and of age) will receive a complimentary beer after you finish (starting at 8:30 am). Please bring license for beer! Courtesy of Genesee Brewing Company!

There will be a live band (Sinzibukwud) playing and a free inflatable for the kids, provided by the Bayview YMCA!

Also, be sure to visit the Fleet Feet Recovery Zone! The Fleet Feet Staff and local Massage Therapists and Chiropractors will be onsite inside the Blue Cross Arena. The Fleet Feet Recovery Zone is FREE and a great opportunity for a post race massage.     
  
Participant Photographs
Flash Frame will be at the race to take photos of participants that will be available to purchase after the race. This should be made available by mid week after the event.
 
Half Marathon/Relay - Course Time Limit
There is a 3 1/2 hour course limit for the Half Marathon (a 16:19 mile). If you are not keeping up to pace, you will be allowed to stay on the course, but may be asked to move to the side of the road or sidewalk, so traffic can resume. At this point, the course will no longer be supported by traffic control, Road Marshals, Water Stops or finish line. So please be sure to plan accordingly. The finish line will close at 11:00 am sharp.
  
Half Marathon/Relay - Aid Stations
There are 6 Aid Stations approximately 2 miles apart. Aid Stations will have water and Gu Hydration Drink (no hydration drink at Water Stop #1).
 
    - Mile 2ish - Frontier Field
    - Mile 4ish - George Eastman House area
    - Mile 6ish - Goodman St by Rite Aid
    - Mile 8ish - as you enter Cemetery
    - Mile 10ish - as you exit Cemetery
    - Mile 11ish - on River Path, past newest pedestrian bridge
 
Gu Energy Gel will be available at Water Stop #3 (approx Mile 6 - Goodman St)
 
Porto Potties will be located at
    - Approximately the 5K mark
    - At Water Stop #3 (Mile 6ish - Goodman St)
    - Just before you enter the cemetery (approx 8 mile mark)
    - Around mile 11 by the U of R
 
Half Marathon - Pace Leaders
Pace groups led by experienced pacers for a variety of times will be provided by Fleet Feet. Run with experienced runners on a steady pace and meet your time goal. There is no need to sign up. Just look for the sign for the time you'd like to finish at the starting line. The Pacers will also be wearing Fleet Feet Pace Leader shirts.

Awards
There will not be an awards ceremony on race day. Overall Winners & Age Group Winners can stop at the awards table once results have been posted to claim your award. Awards will only be available on race day until 11:00 am. Awards will also be available for pick-up after the race at Fleet Feet Sports @ The Armory between April 30th - May 14th. Awards will not be mailed. Neighborhood Spirit Contest
We will be holding our annual Neighborhood "Spirit Contest" during the Half Marathon. The top two "most spirited" neighborhoods will win $750 & $500 for 1st and 2nd place. Monies will go towards a beautification project in that neighborhood. Last year's winners were the Highland Park and Susan B Anthony Neighborhoods.
 
The course has been split into 6 Zones where each zone has a leader from that neighborhood to get the neighborhood together to show support and spirit to the runners. After the Half Marathon, we will be sending a survey to participants for you all to vote on who had the most spirit!  
 
Here are the Zones:
 
Zone 1 (Mile 1ish): Susan B Anthony Neighborhood from Canal Street @ West main through Madison Street.
 
Zone 2 (Mile 3-4 ish): East Avenue Neighborhood from East @ Alexander to East @ Brunswick.
 
Zone 3 (Mile 4.5 - 5.5ish): Park Ave Neighborhood from Park @ Argyle to Park @ Goodman.
 
Zone 4 (Mile 6.5ish): Swillburg Neighborhood from Goodman @ Pearl Street to Goodman at S. Clinton (at the Cinema).
 
Zone 5 (Mile 7ish): Highland Park Neighborhood from S. Goodman @ Crawford to the tip top of the hill at Pinetum before they turn down Doctors.
 
Zone 6 (Mile 10-11ish): The river path along Wilson Blvd at U of R. Starting from Elmwood to the old RR Track past the Track. 

Road Closures
There will be some road closures & delays the morning of the race. We appreciate the efforts of the Rochester Police Department, who along with volunteer road marshals will do their very best to lessen the impact to the community while keeping the runners and walkers out of harm's way.    Click here for the traffic advisory

Kids Half Marathon & 1.1-Mile Race
Kids Half Marathon/1.1 Mile Participant Information
(had to register by April 7th for the kids half marathon)
Kids 12 & under (who are not part of the Kids Half Marathon already) can still register for just the 1.1 Mile Race on April 28th.
Registration is $10 ($12 on race day).
    
Kids Race Schedule:
Sunday, April 28th, Blue Cross Arena
Start Time - 10:30 am

For Race Day: 
  • Be sure to pick up you custom bib at the Expo/Packet Pick-Up (April 26 & 27 at Fleet Feet @ The Armory)
  • All finishers receive a medal as they cross the finish line
  • The final 1.1 mile will be professionally timed
  • Adults runners can accompany their child on their final 1.1 mile. However, for safety reasons, we ask that you register in advance. There is no fee.
  • Adults please make sure to stay to one side (the left side of the chute) with your child and not block the finish chute. Half Marathoners will be finishing as well and we want to make sure all participants have room.

Where to go on Race Day:
The Start Line for kid’s races is at Court & Exchange. You should report to the west side of Exchange Street (opposite the corner of Court Street) by 10:15 am. There will be Kids Run Wild Flags to denote the start.
 
Final 1.1 Mile Course:
The course stays on Exchange Blvd, it is a two loop, out & back.

Kids 12 & under (who are not part of the Kids Half Marathon already) can still register for just the 1.1 Mile Race on April 28th. Registration is $10 ($12 on race day).
