2019 HEALTH PROFESSIONS EXPO TO
SHOWCASE FASTEST GROWING CAREER PATH
Do you want to learn more about the hottest growing jobs? Then be sure to attend the 2019 Health Professions Expo on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. That’s when you’ll learn from nurses, emergency personnel, veterinarians, doctors, radiologists, medical school students, university representatives and more about what it takes to successfully pursue a career in health care.

According to the Idaho Department of Labor and U.S. Department of Labor, health professions are among the fastest growing, most abundant and highest paying occupations in Idaho and the U.S. Review The Top 10 Reasons to Attend Health Professions Expo 2019 .

Last year’s Health Expo was a huge success, attracting more than 1,000 students and parents. This year’s event is sure to be even bigger.  All Boise School District junior and senior high school students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend this year’s Health Professions Expo. The Health Expo will be held at the Dennis Technical Education Center Annex, 3324 S. Pro Tech Drive, Boise (behind the District Services Center on Victory Road). Exhibits open at 5 p.m. and panel discussions begin at 6 p.m. 

Limited parking will be available at the Dennis Technical Education Center Annex (DTEC), 3324 S. Pro Tech Drive, Boise. You are encouraged to take the shuttle bus that will run approximately every 10-15 minutes from the main parking lot at Borah High School, 6001 W. Cassia St. beginning at 4:30 p.m. The last bus will leave DTEC at 8 p.m.

Last year’s attendees raved about what they learned. “Super cool event,” said Jaelyn Westrick, 8th grade student, West Junior High School. “Students can explore all the possibilities for jobs in health occupations and match them with their interests. I highly recommend going if you want to pursue your interest in health fields.” 

Admission to the 2019 Health Professions is free! The first 50 students admitted receive free earbuds and the first 500 students admitted receive a free 2019 Health Professions Expo T-shirt! All Boise School District students can also enter to win an iPad! In addition, a drawing for twenty-five $5 gift cards from Dutch Bros.will be held. Boise School District high school seniors in attendance are eligible to apply for a $2,000 college scholarship from Blue Cross of Idaho.
