66 Parallel Trail
On November 19, 2019, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors decided to name the shared use path on I-66 the "66 Parallel Trail". The trail will provide direct access to Random Hills Park, one of the 427 Fairfax County Parks.
Fairfax Couty Parks are open and provide a wide variety of activities during December!

Here are some suggestions for you to explore solo or with your family and friends. To brighten the December days, schedule weekly visits to a Fairfax County Park.

At Green Spring Gardens you will see many garden styles and how nice they look even during the short winter days. Learn about the National Historic Site and receive a deeper appreciation of this park treasure.

Visit one or all of the RECenters and use the pool and exercise equipment. At the front desk, introduce yourself as a first time visitor and a friendly volunteer or staff members will make you feel at home. Hours and more information can be found in Parktakes or on the web .

Since everyone needs exercise, why not explore sections of the 41-mile Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail or another stream valley trail in your December plans? You can enjoy the natural beauty of the open spaces, wildlife, breath the clean air, and enjoy the silence - except for the sounds of the flowing streams.
December is a good time to think about ways you can make a lasting impact on Fairfax County Parks that can be enjoyed by future generations.

A short brochure provides information about how you can provide a lasting legacy. As a 501(c)(3) charity, the Park Foundation ensures that your wishes are followed and appropriately recognized.

Those who have included the Park Foundation in their estate plans will be included in the Legacy Circle. Read how Legacy Circle Members have fulfilled their dreams and passions by including the county parks in their estate plans.

Gifts of all sizes will make a significant difference to our 23,000 acre park system.

This month, talk with your family members, your financial adviser, or give Bobbi Longworth, Executive Director of the Park Foundation, a call at (703) 324-8581 about how you can join the Legacy Circle.
