Unpaid Internship. We will work with your school's requirements to obtain college or high school credit.
The intern will track all legislative bills and attend committee hearings. Duties also include working with advocacy organizations to lobby and analyzing bills.
The intern will perform constituent services including conducting research and reports; receiving and resolving inquiries from constituents; attending meetings and briefing on behalf of Rep. Lopez Romero; and preparing policy memos.
The intern will also canvass or knock on doors in district 99 and constituent outreach to schools, business, organizations, and faith groups.
The intern may also be responsible for producing the newsletter, monitoring social media, and working on presentations and graphic designs.
This position requires the ability to travel. This position requires odd hours and a flexible schedule including some weekends and evenings.
This position requires a willingness to learn and have FUN!
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: One (1) year of experience in legislative/policy research or communications and/or advocacy experience in government affairs or community organizing and development.
