What are they & Why might I want one?
Access Mobility has lots of customers who deal with frustrations... like putting on their socks! Lets face it, none of us are as young as we used to be. Especially in post surgery situations, precautions must be taken in order to not cause any new injuries.

A sock aid is a piece of adaptive equipment that allows people to put on their socks easily . For arthritis patients who have difficulty bending and reaching their feet, a sock aid can allow them to independently put on their socks.

A sock aid is made of flexible or semi-flexible material (often plastic) that is attached to two long handles (rope or cord).
  1. Slip your sock over the flexible part of the sock aid (so the top of the sock is held open)
  2. Holding onto the handles, drop the sock and sock aid onto the floor.
  3. Your foot is then slipped into the sock opening.
  4. With the two handles, you pull back and upward so your foot slips into the sock and out of the sock aid.

It's as simple as that!

A sock aid does not come in sizes, but it is able to accommodate feet of all sizes. It also works well with most stockings as well as socks. More ridged sock aids can also with compression stockings

Prices on our sock aids are in the $15 to $25 range. We keep plenty on the shelf, so stop in before your surgery and pick one up!

Here is a helpful VIDEO I found that might be not only instructive, but encouraging as well.

6 English muffins, split and toasted
2 cups shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese, divided
1 cup cubed fully cooked ham
1/2 cup chopped sweet red pepper
8 large eggs
2 cups 2% milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
