If it is your first time to the Hunt Horse Complex, you might want to take a look at this
aerial map of the facility so you are familiar with the location of the barns, rings and entrance gate and stall and show offices.

Parking & Safety at the Horse Complex
|
PLEASE REMEMBER:
No trailers or campers will be allowed to park and set up next to the barns. With campers/trailers parked next to the barns, there is not enough access for emergency vehicles to pass unobstructed in the event of an emergency. This is a violation of fire code. There are no changes to open trailer/ camper parking. Thank you for your cooperation as the NC State Fair-grounds implements this new plan for the safety of all
.
Please be mindful of securing all valuables during the show. At various shows throughout the year, there have been instances of theft occurring from the stall area. Thieves have even stolen items from cars that they were able to unlock by finding keys lying around stalls. If your group is going to leave your stall area for any length of time, please lock up your items in tack stalls. Better safe than sorry!

Show Photographer
Triple Nickel Photography is this year's show photographer. They will cover in-arena action shots of some of the classes, offer backdrop for posed and "win" shots, capture candids throughout the show, provide on-site previewing and ordering, and provide online ordering after the show.
Triple Nickel Photography uses external strobe flash units when shooting indoors and in covered areas. During some classes, they will also employ the use of on-camera flashes. This is to ensure the absolute best quality image possible. If an exhibitor prefers not to have their photo taken during an individual run/ride type class, they may opt out by letting the photographer know before their class/run.

For the third year in a row, the NC State 4-H Horse Show will hold a stall decorating contest.
The online entry form must be completed by June 30,
indicating the stall numbers to be judged within a county delegation. The entire delegation does not have to participate. There will be a small, medium, and large division (based on the number of stalls in the group). The break down within divisions will be announced after entries have been received. Stalls must be ready to be judged on Friday morning (July 12) at 8:00 a.m. and the winners will be announced at the opening ceremonies Friday night. Decorations should remain up through noon on Saturday. Stalls will be judged on the following criteria: 40% Neatness & Eye Appeal (Eye catching design and visual appeal); 30% Originality & Creativity (Exceptional use of creative ideas and originality to the design); 30% Craftsmanship (Well-constructed and neat materials). Theme: A Night at the Theater

Pattern Lecture
We are pleased to once again offer a Pattern Lecture/Clinic
designed to give exhibitors some pointers on how to perform patterns for the show and how the classes will be judged. At 6:30 on July 10, Robin Lynn will give a lecture on Showmanship and will highlight the new scoring system for the class. She will use video examples to illustrate ideal pattern work. All exhibitors, parents and spectators are invited to the cafeteria for this talk.

Western Dressage tests that are linked on the entry form, Dressage Manual and App are 2017 tests, not 2019, which are the correct ones.

Ground Handling & Trail Updates/Changes
Western & Ranch Trail courses will be set up in the Barn E Ring. Please remember that we are using a posted order of go for those classes, so be sure to check those lists so you do not miss your go.
