The Rest of the Story
Last month I shared that Vicki and I were in a time of waiting.
We now know for sure. My wife has cancer. She wrote on her Facebook page on September 23, "T
his is my family picture@Lake Tahoe the beginning of August with my whole family. We were all so happy to be together, but it also was a hard day for all of us as we learned that perhaps I may have cancer. I never thought I would say those words, but I guess anyone who gets cancer thinks that. From that day on we have had a journey of waiting and praying and doing many tests. Waiting is so hard, but God has promised HE will never leave us or forsake us! God has been so faithful and HE is definitely our rock and understands all our fears and discouragement. He helps us to be strong and keep going on with him. So today we learned that I DO have uterine cancer in the lining of my uterus. We will be doing surgery after Jim and I return from a trip in October. This cancer is very common and slow growing, so our oncologist said to go ahead with our trip and enjoy it...and then I will have surgery and recovery after that. We would so love your prayers."
Update: The doctor moved the surgery to Wednesday, October 16 at 11 am. So Vicki will not go with me after all to the CBGlobal meetings in Thailand. I will speak at the meetings, and then at Bayview Church, our PCN church located in Guam. I will then cut my trip short and come home before the surgery. We appreciate your prayers.

For the first time in the fall, our English Women's Retreat was held at Murrieta Hot Springs Christian Conference Center. 200 women gathered for a very inspiring and encouraging weekend. They enjoyed listening to four different speakers, Amy Moore, Joy Richart, Emily Greenwood and Carolyn Koole on the subject of living courageously. International Church
is one of our PCN churches in Hawaii. Pastor Scott Custer is excited about the one-day event at their church on Saturday, October 5. Many churches will host this Common Good Conference ($79), which is a multi-site gathering to explore how your church can equip you for ministry in the workplace and trigger community growth — becoming ‘a church for Monday.’ Larry Osborne will be joined by seven other speakers. If you can't go to Hawaii, Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena is also hosting this conference.

Oops!! Little things matter. Known now as the "Sinners Bible," it was published In 1631. A publishing company mistakenly printed the Bible with the typo, “Thou Shalt Commit Adultery.” Only 9 of these Bibles, exist today. (

As Christians we are to (Phil 4:8)... "t
hink about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." Here are some things you might not have heard.
The U.S. has the lowest unemployment rate since the 1960s. We have the lowest unemployment rate for women, blacks, Hispanics and those without a high school diploma since 1969. We have the lowest inflation rate in 50 years. We have the lowest interest rates in most people’s lifetimes. The wealth of American families and businesses recently reached $100 trillion for the first time ever. Wage growth for workers is at or near a 20-year high. Today in America, there are 7.5 million unfilled jobs, the highest level of job openings in American history. (
