OCTOBER 9, 2019
Dear Members,
I hope this message finds you well as the 2019 golf season nears a close.
This is always an exciting time for the Association as representatives from more than 150 facilities gather for the PGA of BC Buying Show. We are pleased to be back at Richmond Olympic Oval on Oct. 16-17 for our largest annual gathering of members.
On behalf of the Association, send you a note regarding details of the Buying Show and amenities that members of the PGA of BC can look forward to seeing at this year's event.
To open, I wanted to express the importance of attending this event. The Buying Show brings together more than 70 exhibitors to showcase their products and services to BC golf-industry buyers. It also serves as a great opportunity to network, learn and generate new ideas and initiatives as you prepare for the 2020 season. Please note that each vendor contributes a significant amount of not only funds, but also their time to be in front of Association members. Post-event surveys continue to show member attendance as the single-most important factor that determines the likelihood of an exhibitor's return.
Exhibitor feedback also indicates that an overwhelming amount of business is conducted on Day 1 of the show compared to Day 2. We encourage members to consider making appointments on Thursday where possible to help alleviate the time-crunch for exhibitors on Wednesday. We thank you in advance for your continued support.
Please note the following details for this year's Buying Show:

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT POINTS (PDP)
Professional Development Program (PDP) points will be awarded for both the Buying Show (4 points per day) as well as the Awards Celebration (2 points). Please note that it is the Member's responsibility to sign in for all events' registration. Points will not be retroactively awarded if a signature is not present -- no exceptions. As a reminder, this is the last formal opportunity for members to earn points for the 2018 campaign and earn a position within the Top 100.
BOOKING & ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE PRIZES
As a way of encouraging member facilities to book orders at the Show, the PGA of BC will conduct booking incentive draws at the top of every hour. For each Exhibitor with which a PGA of BC facility places an order during Buying Show hours, members will be eligible to win great prizes. The more orders you place, the more chances to win!
As an additional incentive, members will receive a ballot for each day's attendance at the Show. These ballots will be eligible for prizes and will be drawn at 1:00pm on Thursday. This year's top prize will be the value of your 2020 Membership dues in cash.
FACILITY PARKING
Parking is available at the Richmond Olympic Oval's General Parking lot throughout the event at a cost of $2.00 per hour or a daily rate of $15.00. Members are encouraged to arrive early as parking for the Show will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parkade clearance is 6’8”.

CAREER POSTINGS
Thinking of hiring for 2020? Statistics have proven that autumn is the most desirable time to post open positions at your facility. Knowing this, the PGA of BC will once again feature a Careers Board at the Show. Many great success stories have started with positions advertised and interviews being conducted at the Show. Should you wish to ensure your opening is featured, please send your posting to me (
