December Musings
According to the Tropical Zodiac.

Mars ended its retrograde arc or shadow period on October 8, but Venus ends its retrograde arc or shadow on December 18, which means that it will pass 10 Scorpio 50, the degree where Venus retrograded on October 5. So, if you were affected by the Venus retrograde you may finally be able to move forward, taking with you what you learned from Venus retrograde, which would be affecting relationships, income, and the area where Scorpio is situated in your chart. Mercury just stationed direct on December 6 at 27 Scorpio 16, and will leave the retrograde arc or shadow at 13 Sagittarius 29, which is where it retrograded on November 17. I include the shadows and retrograde arcs since some people believe that It means the planet is still retrograde. I do not believe that, but I believe that the house of the retrograde transit, and the planets the transit conjoins, is not completely out of the woods until the arc is over. I only use these for the personal planets-Mercury, Venus and Mars-otherwise we would be looking at shadow periods that are longer than the direct planetary periods.

Jupiter has changed signs in both the tropical and sidereal zodiac and they will now stay in their new signs for 13 months. Jupiter entered tropical Sagittarius on November 8 where it will stay until December 2, 2019 when it enters Capricorn, so see where Sagittarius is in your chart and which planets are there. Jupiter will bring opportunity, fortuitous circumstances, abundance, and even children if everything else in the chart concurs. Even though Jupiter rules Sagittarius it can also bring too much optimism and the belief that things will happen without putting in the effort. Remember that whatever you do this year, it will then have a sobering effect in 2020 because Jupiter will then go into its debilitating position of Capricorn and will be sobered by its meeting with Saturn, Pluto, and Nodes in Capricorn. Even though Saturn will conjoin Pluto January 12, 2020, they will be moving closer together this year, conjoining many of the eclipse degrees. In the meantime, though the cardinal signs are still getting the rough end, Jupiter in Sagittarius should allow you to take advantage of some of the opportunities you will get in the areas of life represented by the house where Sagittarius is placed in your chart (one or two depending on the house system) as well as the areas where Aries and Leo are placed since Jupiter forms a trine to those areas. (Scroll below for definition of houses). If Jupiter conjoins or trines a planet in one of those signs, see what that planet represents and which house it rules. Saturn on the other hand, for the first time in a while, will not be helped by Jupiter since they are one sign apart.

Saturn will be moving towards Pluto and it will also be conjoining the Solar Eclipse degree of January 6 (GMT), which is 15° Capricorn 25, three times-February 5, August 4, October 31, 2019. And remember that the transit is not exact only on that day but at least a week before and after. Although this is occurring in the new year, and not in December, the eclipse occurs the first week of January and as Saturn nears that degree moving forward, look at which house the eclipse, Saturn and Pluto fall in since that area of your chart has already been activated and will continue to be activated the entire year requiring examination and transformation. More information about these Capricorn signatures each month as the new year begins and progresses. (Again, scroll down below for the house where your Capricorn appears. The houses where Aries, Cancer, and Libra should all be affected as well.)

If you do want to view 2019 in more detail, please sign up for the workshop by scrolling down. Remember you can do this live in NYC, as a webinar, or you can get the handouts and recordings (audio-visual and audio) after the workshop. It will be 3 hours long, with 50 plus pages of handouts including charts and tables.

December Musings
According to the Sidereal Indian Zodiac

Mars ended its retrograde arc or shadow period on October 8, but Venus ends its retrograde arc or shadow on December 18, which means that it will pass 16 Libra 49, the degree where Venus retrograded on October 5. So, if you were affected by the Venus retrograde you may finally be able to move forward, taking with you what you learned from Venus retrograde, which would be affecting relationships, income, and the area where Scorpio is situated in your chart. Mercury just stationed direct on December 6 at 3 Scorpio 14, and will leave the retrograde arc or shadow at 19 Scorpio 28, which is where it retrograded on November 17.

Jupiter entered Scorpio on October 11 and it will have a brief interlude of Jupiter entering Sagittarius on March 27, 2019, stationing retrograde at 0 Sagittarius on April 10, 2019, and moving back into Scorpio on April 25, 2019 where it will stay until it enters Sagittarius on November 4, 2019. See where Scorpio is in your chart and which planets are there. Jupiter will bring opportunity, fortuitous circumstances, abundance, and even children if everything else in the chart concurs. Even though Jupiter is in a friendly sign since Mars rules Scorpio, and Jupiter and Mars are friends, it can still bring a lot of the Sagittarian optimism and the belief that things will happen without putting in the effort. Remember that whatever you do this year, it will then have a sobering effect in 2020 because Jupiter will then join Saturn and Pluto and Nodes in Sagittarius. This will have a similar effect to Jupiter in Capricorn due to the influence of the Nodes and Saturn especially as Saturn conjoins Pluto on January 12, 2020. They will be moving closer together this year, conjoining many of the eclipse degrees. In the meantime, though the dual (mutable) signs are still getting the rough end, Jupiter in Scorpio should allow you to take advantage of some of the opportunities you will get in the areas of life represented by the house where Scorpio is placed in your chart as well as the areas where Pisces and Cancer are placed since Jupiter forms a trine to those areas as well as Taurus, which Jupiter aspects. (Scroll below for definition of houses). If Jupiter conjoins or trines a planet in one of those signs, see what that planet represents and which house it rules. Saturn on the other hand, for the first time in a while, will not be helped by Jupiter since they are one sign apart.

Saturn will be moving towards Pluto and it will also be conjoining the Solar Eclipse degree of January 6 (GMT), which is 21° Sagittarius 23' three times-February 5, August 4, October 31, 2019. More information about these Sagittarius signatures each month as the new year begins and progresses. (Again, scroll down below for the house where your Sagittarius appears. It will also affect the houses Saturn aspects-Aquarius, Gemini, and Virgo.)

Hi all

Time again for the annual

2019 Sensitive Degrees Workshop: Stations, Eclipses, Ingresses, and Aspects

Date: Saturday January 5, 2019.
Time: 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
Location: New York City/Simultaneous Webinar

Webinar: $50. Live in NYC.  $60

Prices go up to $55/$65 on Thursday January 3.

Yes it is on the day of the solar eclipse, but it was the first weekend we could do it BEFORE the eclipses, and it is still a great way to learn about the year to come.
This annual workshop is back for a look at the coming year which will be filled with so many planetary signatures that we should expect the year ahead to continue to be a bumpy ride as it was last year, but with some differences as noted in the description below. This year the workshop will be simultaneously a webinar and in New York City (if there are enough participants who want to do it live). And as usual everyone as well as those who cannot make it live will get complete handouts with 2019 charts and tables, showing degrees and dates to watch in the upcoming year along with audio mp3, and audio-visual mp4. As usual, these are from the point of view of both  tropical and Indian (sidereal) astrology. (If you pay to do it in NYC and we wind up only doing as a webinar, you can attend as webinar, receive the recordings and handouts, or be refunded.)
Also for the first time, I will be providing a separate recording and handout explaining the technical and theoretical basis for things like eclipses and retrogrades, since many of you have already heard this. Instead we will dive straight into the lunations, eclipses, retrogrades, aspects, and ingresses. Some (but not all) planetary signatures we will cover are as follows:
  • Lunations (New and Full Moons)
  •
  • Eclipses.  January 5 (6), January 21, July 2, July 16, December 26 (and the one on January 10, 2020).  All the eclipses are part of the 18 year Saros cycle, and, except for the one on January 5 (6), part of the 19 year Metonic cycle. (If you heard my NCGR Eclipse webinar or attended my Philadelphia talk, some of the information will be repeated but only on eclipses.)
  •
  • Planetary Stations.  Annual retrograde cycles of Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. (Stations of Saturn and Pluto especially important because they are close to eclipses)
  • Aspects.  Some of the more important aspects for 2019 are as follows.
  • Jupiter square Neptune on January 13, June 16, and September 21.
  • Saturn and Pluto will not be conjunct until January 12, 2020, but they will be moving close to each other, and will be joined by Jupiter in 2020, so their positions will be looked at.
  • Saturn-Ketu (South Node) conjunction occurs three times because Saturn is retrograde: April 30, July 4, September 28. Since  in Indian astrology Ketu, or South Node, takes on the qualities of Mars, so it is like having a Saturn-Mars conjunction.
  • Pluto-Ketu (South Node) April 4. Like having a Pluto-Mars conjunction.  and more.
  • Tropical Ingresses. This year Uranus makes definitive entrance into Taurus on March 6, 2019. Jupiter will be in Sagittarius all year until December 2 when it moves into Capricorn.
  • Sidereal Ingresses. The Nodes move into Gemini (Rahu-North Node) and Sagittarius (Ketu-South Node) on March 23. Jupiter is presently in Scorpio. It moves into Sagittarius on March 23 and retrogrades back into Scorpio on April 25, and moves definitively into Sagittarius on November 4.
  • And so much more.
Below are two rates. One for webinar and one for live in NYC.

Webinar. $50.  undefined

In-person in NYC. $60.  undefined
